Jack Black and Mos Def are going to hit the big screen with another comedy film called BE KIND, REWIND. This is a pretty exciting deal, since I’m a big fan of Jack Black and my friend KC has collections of all Jack Black’s movies. Jack Black is one of those funny awesome movie stars and he was in a movie that is in my list of ten best movies of all time, it was… ‘School of Rock’!, Booyeah!! now back from memory land
Jerry (Jack Black) is a junkyard worker who attempts to sabotage a power plant he suspects of causing his headaches. But he inadvertently causes his brain to become magnetized, leading to the unintentional destruction of all the movies in his friend’s (Mos Def) store.
In order to keep the store’s one loyal customer, an elderly lady with a tenuous grasp on reality, the pair re-create a long line of films including The Lion King, Rush Hour, Ghostbusters, When We Were Kings, Back to the Future, Driving Miss Daisy, and Robocop , putting themselves and their townspeople into it. They become the biggest stars in their neighborhood.
Interesting concept, who wouldn’t want to re-create movies that they love. I for one always try to do the God father lines, and we all know that most guys today know how to act like Scarface including all his mannerism, especially that one scene where he gets a heavy weapon in his hand, bends his knees a little and screams ‘Say hello to my little friend!’. Today’s the age of YouTube anyway, anybody could do this easily and be famous.
