Jet Li and Jackie Chan

There’s nothing for kung fu movie fans like me than to see two great martial art legends in a collaboration called THE FORBIDDEN KINGDOM (opens April 18th, 2008)
It’s like… if Robert De Niro and Al Pacino knew kung fu.

In the recent press conference promoting the movie, Jet Li and Jackie Chan revealed their plans to work together again on another movie.
That’s right, haters! The world hasn’t seen the last of this!

Here’s what happened according to Associated Press

“The first day we started filming, it felt like we had worked together for many years,” Chan said, adding, “after filming this movie, we didn’t have enough fun.”

“In four months (of filming), we went from friends to becoming brothers,” Li said.

Chan and Li said they want to shoot another movie together based on a script they started working on 15 years ago, but both stars refused to give details.

Awww! They’re brothers now!
They might as well be… they look alike anyway.
Hey, I’m Asian so according to the rulebook, I get to say things like that and get away with it.
And so… what is this script they’ve been working on since 15 years ago.
Why has it taken that long?
With the money Jackie Chan received for Rush Hour 3 ($15 million). It shouldn’t be that difficult to help get this project started.

My pitch for the story would be… they’re cop partners… present time… action/crime thriller.
The place should be in Hong Kong.
Everyone there knows Kung Fu so you never know who could be your enemy when you see a billion people on the street.
Once again, I can get away with it.
And so can you.

What do you think their new movie’s going to be about?
Would you still see a Jackie Chan & Jet Li movie if it didn’t involve any kung fu fighting?
