Captain America Joe Johnston Jurassic Park

It’s only been a few months since Joe Johnston was declared the director of the live action movie FIRST AVENGER: CAPTAIN AMERICA. And shortly after that, it was announced that shooting is expected to start in June and release date is still July 22nd, 2011. Although the idea for the plot showed up online. The director of Jurassic Park III and the upcoming The Wolfman talked to Boxoffice about his plan of taking the story to a different direction and what about CAPTAIN AMERICA that he finds fascinating…

It’s not going to be a Captain America that you expect. It’s something different. It is influenced by the comic book, but it goes off in a completely different direction. It’s the origin story of Captain America. It’s mostly period—there are modern, present-day bookends on it—but it’s basically the story of how Steve Rogers becomes Captain America. The great thing about Captain America is he’s a super hero without any super powers. Which is why this story, among the hundreds of super hero stories, appealed to me the most. He can’t fly, he can’t see through walls, he can’t do any of that stuff. He’s an every man who’s been given this amazing gift of transformation into the perfect specimen—the pinnacle of human perfection. How does that affect him? What does that mean for him emotionally and psychologically? He was this 98-pound weakling, he was this wimp, and he’s transformed instantly into this Adonis. You’d think he got everything he wanted. Well, he didn’t get everything he wanted. The rules change at that point and his life gets even more complicated and dire. For me, that’s the interesting part of the story. It’s got some great action sequences in it and some incredible stuff that we’ve never seen before. But at the heart of it, it’s a story about this kid who all he wants to do is fit in. This thing happens and he still doesn’t fit in. And he has to prove himself a hero—essentially go AWOL to save a friend. Eventually at the very end, I don’t want to give away to much, but he does fit in. But it’s the journey of getting him there that’s interesting. And it’s a lot of fun.

In that same season, if you’d recall, Johnston also said that there is a great story for JURASSIC IV and that he’d like to get involved in the project which will also go in a “different direction”. Johnston seems to be a big fan of taking things to a different direction. How bout this for a different direction.. now Johnston is saying that JURASSIC IV is going to be a start of a new trilogy. Kinda like what Kevin Williamson is doing with the new SCREAM trilogy.
Are you ready for JURASSIC IV, V, and VI??

Well, there is going to be a Jurassic Park IV. And it’s going to be unlike anything you’ve seen. It breaks away from the first three—it’s essentially the beginning of the second Jurassic Park trilogy. It’s going to be done in a completely different way. That’s pretty much all I can tell you.
If you think of the first three as a trilogy, number four would be the beginning of a second trilogy.

Jurassic Park III back in 2001 only earned $181 Million considering it was made with a budget of $93 Million. I didn’t think the movie was worth watching, hell I even thought The Lost World was a rather weak sequel. Now we’re going to have to face 3 more? O, let me guess… this new trilogy wants to be in 3D right? Why else would anybody continue this dinosaur franchise?!

I just hope in the new Jurassic Trilogy that if there are idiots kids doing idiots thing, they need to be eaten. Like in the first one. Hey there goes a T-Rex lets go pull out a flashlight and waving it in its eyes.

The Lost World. Hey Im on a island with dinosaurs why don’t I start a fire and cooking some bacon.

Jurassic park III….the kid was the smartest one….lol. babay pterodatyls harassing you, give them a right cross and stick and move.

But I would like to story what the is about since its not a reboot.

Wait they are continuing on with scream? Not a reboot? You mean more Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, and 1800collect guy? WTf? Poeple got pissed at the ending of the 2nd one when Duey didn’t die. And really threw a fit when Duey or Parker Posey’s character didn’t die in the 3rd one.
