John Cusack is a talented actor, nobody can deny that, unfortunately for him, often times you find him doing projects that are just okay.
I think he needs to find something that suits his capability that would get him the nomination.
But sadly this next oneĀ just isn’t it.
According to Variety, John Cusack has signed on to star in the apocalyptic thriller 2012, to be directed by Roland Emmerich’s (10,000 B.C., The Day After Tomorrow, Independence Day)
see.. that’s where it goes wrong, the name Roland Emmerich is not a guarantee for anything significant.
All that that German director’s after is box office success but what he gets instead is usually movies that depend solely on overblown special effects without any solid plot to back them up.
You know what I mean when you read my review on 10,000 B.C.
Chiwetel Ejiofor (Redbelt) also is in negotiations to join the big-budget epic, which is about an academic researcher who opens a portal into a parallel universe and makes contact with his double in order to prevent an apocalypse predicted by the ancient Mayans.
Emmerich and Harald Kloser wrote the screenplay. Shooting will begin in July in Los Angeles for a July 10, 2009 release.
