Mornin’ and whatUp movie buff everywhere! Here’s something as strong as caffeine to wake you up and keep you alarmed for the rest of the day. How bout a shot of info on the sequel to one of the most kickass summer blockbuster movies this year?!
Geoff Baucher of LA TIMES got the beans from Director Jon Favreau that the work on IRON MAN 2 has begun…
I just talked to Jon Favreau a bit ago, and he said that while there hasn’t been an formal announcement on the sequel to “Iron Man,” he’s begun developing it. “We’re working on it now,” he said, “which hasn’t been officially announced. It will be released in 2010.”
Could Jon Favreau have been inspired by THE HOBBIT writers who also started working a couple of days ago?
Either way, I think the pressure is on because how do you top something as cool as what the first movie did is the million dollar question. Speaking of millions, Iron Man itself has made about $317 Million domestically and about over half a billion dollars worldwide.
IRON MAN 2 got a big trace to follow.
Robert Downey Jr. will return as Tony Stark. The supporting cast including Terrence Howard and Gwyneth Paltrow are expected to return as well..
The only thing that worries me is that scribe Justin Theroux is in charge of the script. He’s good at co-writing Tropic Thunder, but can he take on a project of this magnitude?
Will the story include Nick Fury and elaborate more on the Avengers Initiative??
