Whether or not Jon Favreau and Robert Downey Jr. return to do IRON MAN 2, the folks at Marvel studios are certain about one thing. According to Variety, They want scribe Justin Theroux to write the screenplay for the follow up to the first movie which has made roughly about $560 million worldwide.

Who on earth is Justin Theroux?
Well, for one he’s the dude who helped Ben Stiller wrote the script for the new comedy movie TROPIC THUNDER, opens this August 13th, 2008.
Why do I care about this info?
It’s because of this… why the hell does Marvel have to hire a new writer, let alone this one.
I looked him up, he only has one… one writing credit.
It’s not like he’s experienced… and he’s done some acting gigs but his roles weren’t anything memorable.
Besides, what’s wrong the team of writers who wrote the first installment?
they were awesome, the story was awesome,.. one of them is even an Oscar nominee (Children of Men)
Unless Marvel folks want the sequel to head toward a more comedic direction, I think hiring Justin Theroux is bad move on their part.
