King Danny Huston The Lionheart

X-Men Origins: Wolverine may have been a major disappointment but I thought Danny Huston was the right man for the job as William Stryker. Too bad the story didn’t do his talent justice and it held him back. Huston has become one of today’s under-appreciated supporting actors. Even in 30 Days of Night and The Proposition, he managed to keep himself from being forgotten or simply considered just another addition.

He’ll still be supporting in his next gigs but the roles of a god and a king should elevate his status a bit. In next year’s CLASH OF THE TITANS Remake, Huston will play Poseidon. And according to Hollywood Reporter, Huston has signed on to join the cast of the new take on ROBIN HOOD which is directed by Ridley Scott, starring Russell Crowe as the legendary hero and Cate Blanchett as Maid Marion.
Huston will play the historical figure King Richard, this one’s not a myth, he actually did exist and was famously known as Richard the Lionheart because of his battles in the Third Crusade.
I’ve thought about naming this blog Rama The Lionheart but I figured it would make me more narcissistic than I already am.

ROBIN HOOD opens May 14th, 2010
