On the other hand, it would be an interesting plot to watch on the big screen…
Variety said Mandalay Pictures has bought the screen rights to THE LONELY HEARTS CLUB, an upcoming teen novel by author Elizabeth Eulberg who happens to be close friends with Stephenie Meyer, ya know, that woman who created Twilight phenomenon. Together those two women worked the teen vampire series’ PR campaign.
THE LONELY HEARTS book itself will be published this December 29th, 2009.
Here’s the official synopsis of the book…
“Penny is sick of boys and sick of dating. So she vows: no more. It’s a personal choice. . .and, of course, soon everyone wants to know about it. And a few other girls are inspired. A movement is born: The Lonely Hearts Club (named after the band from Sgt. Pepper). Penny is suddenly known for her nondating ways . . . which is too bad, because there’s this certain boy she can’t help but like. . . .”
