Well this something that oughtta keep you wide awake. psxextreme heard a rumor from Meristation that 20th Century Fox is going to develop a New TOMB RAIDER Movie but it won’t bring back Angelina Jolie. In fact, it’s the new hottie in town, Megan Fox, who might answer the call. She’s considered new hottie in my book because let’s face it, prior to Transformers, all of us were like ‘Megan who?’
I wasn’t a big fan of any of the two previous TOMB RAIDER Movies.. they weren’t exciting enough…. other than Jolie and her nice bustline, those movies didn’t really have much to offer, except of course being a rip-off of Indiana Jones. Box office-speaking, the first installment earned so much more as opposed to the second installment, which I thought was one of the lamest sequels ever. Both movies combined made about $400 Million at box office worldwide. The fact that Angelina Jolie was the star power might have a lot to do with that.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Angelina Jolie doesn’t reprise her role,.. because she’s been talking about retiring from acting and just focusing on being a mother and adopting some more kids.
This is still a rumor at the moment but do you think Megan Fox is ready and worthy enough to replace a woman who some men consider to be a goddess? That’s a big shoe for Fox to fill. She does have the body, so there’s nothing to be changed in that department but acting-wise or her ability to attract box office money as the lead star is arguable at this point in time. And then there’s a question if she can even fight because she looks like a girl who would cower the second she sees a cockroach.
UPDATE: A spokesperson for Megan Fox denied the rumors to io9, saying, “She’s not involved in the movie at all.” O well, but it doesn’t it mean it can’t happen. We should start a campaign: Fox for Lara. Start a fan-made poster, trailer or anything.
