Are you a fan of Michael Moore’s documentaries? I thought SICKO was brilliant and inspiring but I’m aware there are some voices out there who shout Moore is anti-America. Be that as it may, the guy is one ambitious filmmaker who gets to the bottom of the problem, his presentations are often informative and entertaining at the same time. But I got upset a little when he confronted the great Charleston Heston in Bowling For Columbine, I thought that part was unnecessary, Chuck Heston was a national treasure who deserved respect despite his flaws.

Via comingsoon.net, Moore’s next film has been set by Overture Films and Paramount Vantage to open in theaters on October 2nd, 2009.

The as-yet-untitled film will explore the root causes of the global economic meltdown and take a comical look at the corporate and political shenanigans that culminated in what Moore has described as “the biggest robbery in the history of this country” – the massive transfer of U.S. taxpayer money to private financial institutions.
Says Moore: “The wealthy, at some point, decided they didn’t have enough wealth. They wanted more — a lot more. So they systematically set about to fleece the American people out of their hard-earned money. Now, why would they do this? That is what I seek to discover in this movie.”

It’s about time he tackles this issue. The economy is in the crapper and somebody’s gotta look into this. By the way, how many documentary filmmakers out there that you can name who are as successful and wealthy as Michael Moore? Documentary films are usually synonymous with struggling aspiring filmmakers who probably won’t get much in return for his project.
Moore was made fun of in Team America: World Police and last year’s American Carol, he was spoofed by Chris Farley’s fat brother.
