It gives a good feeling when a rumor is confirmed to be true because it’s one less thing to wonder. The not-knowing could kill a man. Today, Disney Twitter says Michael Sheen (The Queen, Frost/Nixon) is indeed going to have a role in the upcoming TRON LEGACY (check out the teaser trailer). Sheen is going to play the villain and he tweeted that his character is “in fact not a person at all”. That makes sense, in Tron city, humans would be the least of my worries. Hopefully soon enough, we’ll hear more about exactly what his character is and what he can do… unless Disney is saving all that for you to check out on your own when the movie finally comes out next year.
TRON LEGACY is a 3D high-tech adventure set in a digital world that’s unlike anything ever captured on the big screen. Sam Flynn (GARRETT HEDLUND), the tech-savvy 27-year-old son of Kevin Flynn (JEFF BRIDGES), looks into his father’s disappearance and finds himself pulled into the same world of fierce programs and gladiatorial games where his father has been living for 25 years. Along with Kevin’s loyal confidant (OLIVIA WILDE), father and son embark on a life-and-death journey across a visually-stunning cyber universe that has become far more advanced and exceedingly dangerous.
Disney wants to release TRON LEGACY in either November or December of 2010.
