Ok, let’s do a quick recap, Columbia dropped MONEYBALL because Amy Pascal hated the latest draft because she figured it wouldn’t sell especially in the international market , Pascal met with director Steven Soderbergh to come up with some sort of an agreement but they failed to see eye to eye on the story and the fact that Soderbergh wanted to shoot it in improv docu style. Paramount and WB refused to be the movie’s next home and now it’s DEAD. Yup, according to nytimes today, the project is officially, in the words of old Malcolm McDowell from the Halloween II trailer, “D-E-A-D”
The star Brad Pitt has moved one, he’s looking into other gigs. The report says Soderbergh is looking for ways to assure that his valuable career would not be harmed by the debacle. I doubt that it would,..just check out the recent awesome trailer for THE INFORMANT, now that is going to be a hit.
