Just Jared has the first poster for Twilight sequel, NEW MOON. Apparently Summit Entertainment’s marketing doesn’t wanna start off with a teaser poster and just jump straight to the three lead characters in one artwork, emphasizing the whole love triangle between a vampire, a werewolf, and a human girl who surprisingly hasn’t been eaten by either of those two.
Starring Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner,.. tweens and fangirls are going to go hysterical over this installment.
By the way, MTV said that the first NEW MOON Video clip will be shown at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards, aired on Sunday, May 31 at 9 PM ET. And eventually it’ll land here too.
In The Twilight Saga’s New Moon, Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) is devastated by the abrupt departure of her vampire love Edward (Robert Pattinson) but her spirit is rekindled by her growing friendship with the irresistible Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner). Suddenly she finds herself drawn into the world of the werewolves, ancestral enemies of the vampires, and she finds her loyalties tested.
NEW MOON opens November 20th, 2009

This poster is absolutely perfect for the storyline…I think that there could be one thing different, which I will explain in a moment.
Since the story centers around Bella trying to understand why Edward would leave and her new found relationship/friendship with Bella, I think it would be more interesting to place her in the middle of the two guys. Of course I believe that Edward should be in the background this round because even tho Bella has Jacob, Edward is always in the back of her mind (not to mention his role in this part of the story is a background part). This portion of the story is about Jacob and his transformation, so placing him in the front could also represent that. Maybe I am getting a bit symbolic here.
Looking at the poster again, I can see that Jacob has been placed cleverly in between Edward and Bella as another symbol. Protection. Jacob is protecting Bella because Edward has hurt her and by placing Jacob in the middle we see Jacob trying to prevent Bella for reaching for Edward (look at the placement of her arm).
Anyways, I am starting to ramble. Needless to say the poster is amazing and I know die hard Twilight fans are going to loose their minds over it.
Don’t worry… this is the place to ramble about movies anyway
Thank you for clarifying on why this poster is set the way it is… clearly you have a deeper understanding as to what’s going to go down in the movie
