It must be pretty awesome to be Harry Knowles of AICN, to be gettin’ e-mails from movie stars.. It’d be even more awesome if someday I get to be the superstar e-mailing Harry Knowles and sending inside scoop. Remember the info the other day about Fox re-shooting a bunch of scenes for the upcoming summer blockbuster X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE. I was so pissed off, I don’t think I was thinking clearly when I typed it. Hugh freakin’ Jackman himself e-mailed AICN and explained about the whole situation.
“Hey everyone -
It’s Hugh Jackman, sending this note from freezing Vancouver. I have read a lot of your online comments regarding the footage that we are currently shooting and I share your passion for the Wolverine character and the movie – I owe it all to you guys!
I wanted to reach out and let you know that due to scheduling conflicts with certain cast members and location/weather considerations, we had to wait until now to shoot a couple of scenes. Please rest assured that WOLVERINE will be badass and hopefully meet all of your expectations. I am stoked by the positive response to the teaser, which clearly reflects the tone and scope of the film. If you like that, we’ve got much more in store!
In the meantime, here’s an exclusive shot of some characters you may recognize… “
The photo he’s referring to is the image you see above, but go OVER THERE to see it in hi-res and larger size, I kid you not.. you could almost see Jackman’s muscle veins poppin’ out.
I’ve never been to Vancouver, but I doubt it’s as freezing as Hugh Jackman hypes it up to be. Back at the Comic-Con last year, one word that he kept promising to the fans, one word he used to describe the movie, ‘BADASS’ and it seems like he’s re-emphasizing that same word to guarantee and assure all of us that Fox’s a-hole ways to change every single thing in the universe might just be for a good purpose this time.
Ever since The Dark Knight showed the world that superhero movie can be cinematic achievement too, it sets up the bar so high that other studios are scratching their heads trying to keep up or come up with something even more groundbreaking. They just need to keep the fans in mind at all times as they make those changes because only then will they get their return on investment, if you will.
