I was away for a short while this afternoon and in a blink of an eye, things started to happen.
Just yesterday, Dan Aykroyd was talkin’ about a possibility of another GHOSTBUSTERS Movie and how it would be awesome if Seth Rogen and Judd Apatow could be involved in the project.
I should’ve known he was bluffing
The dude knew all along that something’s cookin’ but he didn’t wanna reveal it just yet.
Today, it’s widely announced via Hollywood Reporter, that Sony has hired two writers to pen the next installment of the franchise that were lucrative back in the 80s.
The studio has recruited writer-producers of the TV comedy series The Office, scribes Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg to work on the New GHOSTBUSTERS Movie.
All the cast of the original movies including director Harold Ramis have been aware of the project and will be involved to a certain extent. I put it that way because the fact is.. yes they might show up in the movie but it will have new actors to play the Ghost-busting Team.
Well, the writers are not Seth Rogen and Judd Apatow but the connection is still there.
Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg penned Sony’s upcoming biblical comedy, Ramis-directed YEAR ONE, which is produced by Judd Apatow.
Somebody should invent a game “Six degrees of Judd Apatow”!
So… about the new cast..
Who do you think would be worthy enough to take the place of Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Harold Ramis??
Do you agree with the previous suggestion?
