I don’t know if the title for this post is well suited because the last time Nicolas Cage looked kick ass was in Face-Off, that’s when his character was the bad guy in the beginning parts of the movie.
According to HollywoodReporter, the man who never takes a break from acting, Nic Cage, has been cast in the movie adaptation KICK-ASS to be directed by Matthew Vaughn, based on the Marvel’s graphic novel by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr.
And guess what.. ya know how the other day the report said that they’ve cast somebody but they wouldn’t say who because the guy’s considered unknown..
Now they have a name to match the role, and yes, I’d have to agree, he’s very unknown, actor Aaron Johnson (The Illusionist) is going to play the main character, Dave Lizewski (sounds like a real geek to me) who decides to become a superhero even though he has no athletic ability or coordination. Things change when he eventually runs into real bad guys with real weapons and boy, is he in for a big surprise!
Actress Lyndsy Fonseca (TV’s Desperate Housewives, How I Met Your Mother) also got cast as the object of the Dave’s infatuation but she thinks Dave is gay. Ouch!
I don’t know which one hurts more.. your dream crush tells you that you’re like a brother or that she thinks you have no interest in her or any other girl.
Nicolas Cage has been known to be a hardcore number one Comic book fan in the world of movie stars. The plot of this movie sounds hilarious to me, that’s why I’m keeping a close eye on it but let’s hope Nic Cage won’t pull a Ghost Rider and screw this up.
He’ll play former cop who wants to bring down a druglord and has trained his daughter, played by Chloe Moretz to be a lethal weapon.
Also already on board is Christopher “McLovin” Mintz Plasse… if it were up to me, I’d just cast him as McLovin’ again, he’d be a token geek boy, a comic relief.
