No More Nick Fury For Samuel L. Jackson in IRON MAN 2?

Nick Fury

I remember the crowds cheered in the theater when after they sat down patiently enough, they witnessed Samuel mothaf*in’ Jackson as Nick Fury at the end of the movie Iron Man. Last year, Samuel Jackson revealed that his charcter, Nick Fury would have a more “prominent role” in IRON MAN 2, Nick Fury was supposed to be more than just a cameo, he was supposed to also be part of THE AVENGERS Movie,.. and I was supposed to be the next Brad Pitt,.. but unfortunately, we can’t always have our way.

The man who makes the word “mothaf*cka” sound like music to our ears revealed to LA TIMES blog that the crappy state of our current economy has affected Marvel in the worst kind of way, which includes the possibility of Not having Nick Fury return for IRON MAN 2

“I saw ['Iron Man' and 'Iron Man 2' director] Jon Favreau at the Scream Awards and we had a conversation. He said, ‘I hope things are working out for you because we’re writing stuff for you.’ Then all of a sudden last week I talked to my agents and manager and things aren’t really working that well.”

“There was a huge kind of negotiation that broke down. I don’t know. Maybe I won’t be Nick Fury. Maybe somebody else will be Nick Fury or maybe Nick Fury won’t be in it. There seems to be an economic crisis in the Marvel Comics world so [they're saying to me], ‘We’re not making that deal.’”

It’s all about the money and right now, nobody has enough money to spend anymore, much less to spend it on Samuel L. Jackson who I’m sure costs a lot considering his reputation. Some say Don Cheadle replacing Terrence Howard in the sequel was also because of financial disagreements.
And I don’t like the idea of recasting Nick Fury with another actor.. there’s too much of that method going around these days.
But I don’t get it.. why the hell does Marvel neglect Sam Jackson but then goes out and hires Tim Robbins, Mickey Rourke and Sam Rockwell, those three are not unknowns might I remind you.
Does this mean it’s also going to badly affect other Marvel projects like FIRST AVENGER: CAPTAIN AMERICA and THOR? How bout THE AVENGERS Movie?.. Hiring big names will be the least of Marvel’s problems is this economy is still in the toilet in the next few years.
