POINT BREAK 2 Is Dead

Last year IESB heard that there’s going to be POINT BREAK 2, a sequel to the 1991 Kathryn Bigelow-directed thrill action starring Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze as Johnny Utah and Bodhi, there’s surfing, skydiving, and firing your gun up in the air while shouting “aaargh!”
At the time the info said the sequel will be called POINT BREAK: INDO cause it would take place in my homeland, Indonesia and the project would be directed by Jan De Bont who brought us Speed. It even had a synopsis..

When Billy Dalton, military special ops and star surfer, is disqualified from the pro-surfing tour, he takes off for the coast of Bali looking for the perfect wave. While there he’s recruited by a private security force who are trying to find a gang known as The Bush Administration, surfing outlaws and modern day pirates who work like “The Ex-Presidents,” a bank robbing crew from Malibu twenty years ago.

But those of you anticipating this are going to be hugely disappointed moviehole has learned that as of this moment, POINT BREAK 2 is officially dead as in HALO movie dead.

wanna know what’s going on with “Point Break Indo”? Nothing. It’s dead. Two as-good-as-official sources have just confirmed for me that the film has fallen over. It may get back up later, but at this stage it’s not happening and the attached cast have been freed up to work on other projects. Had a feeling this might have been the case.

This is probably for the best. Swayze’s health is not in his favor and Reeves is too big for his own good or this type of project and having POINT BREAK 2 starring other actors besides those two just doesn’t feel right, it would be morally wrong.
Now if we could also kill plans for INDIANA JONES 5, RESIDENT EVIL 4, and RAMBO V: THE SAVAGE HUNT
