Earlier this year, director Sam Raimi said that he liked it in the Marvel comics when Spider-Man fights Morbius, a combination of superhero plus supernatural. Previous info said that SPIDER-MAN 4 would start production in February. Whether or not Kristen Dunst would return is still a big question mark but along with that is the question of who will be the next nemesis to go up against our friendly neighborhood hero?
CHUD got an exclusive clip from FearNET that interviewed Raimi recently and interesting thing happened. Raimi was asked if there’s going to be a certain vampire in SPIDER-MAN 4, he replied ““What? I don’t know anything about that” (Check out the video) but he said it in a teasing kind of way while looking at the camera after.
He then went on talking about what about vampires that fascinate him. You can tell that the filmmaker who knows a thing or two about making horror flicks (Evil Dead, Drag Me To Hell) also knows a thing or two about the blood sucking creature and its famous mythology.
My concern is that Raimi might make the same mistake he did with Spider-Man 3 by including too many villains. The idea of having The Lizard and Morbius in SPIDER-MAN 4 might be a possibility
Dr. Michael Morbius, the biochemist who at one point tried to cure himself of a rare blood disease with an experimental treatment involving vampire bats and electroshock therapy. But the results was a far worse side effect than he anticipated, he developed vampiric abilities.
Maybe Kristen Dunst should play Morbius.. ha!
