Rama's SCREEN and my friend, Dex the MySpace-Man at COMIC-CON '08

Dex

Going to Comic-Con by yourself probably isn’t a good idea. Besides not having to share the awesomeness of the event with, you’d also have to keep bothering strangers who pass by to see if they’re willing to hold the camera and take a picture of you with a model or something.
So today for the final day of the Comic-Con, I went with my friend, my old college classmate, Dexter.

And the story doesn’t end there. Over at the Comic-Con today, Dexter was the man of the hour, the show-stopper, the coolest dude around,… and why is that? Because he’s the got the best costumer in the house. The minute he stepped foot in the premises wearing his Myspace-Man costume, which you could see in the picture above, people wanted to take picture with him. He received six kisses from six different, attractive girls.
Lucky bastard! But I gotta hand it to him, the dude got a great idea, creativity and he put time and effort in building the masterpiece all by himself.

Some guy who actually works at MySpace.com just happened to be there today and he noticed the costume. He took a picture, he congratulated Dexter for the sheer brilliance and he promised to tell Tom (the actual MySpace Tom) about Dex.
How rad is that!
Speaking of which, if you look carefully at the costume, under the category about me, it says “I love Rama’s SCREEN.” Dexter was kind enough to help me out and give a spot for free advertising. Now that’s rad!

He got compliments left and right, telling him that they thought his costume was the best they ever saw and that he could’ve won the Masquerade contest. In my opinion, he would’ve won cause he’s right.. ya see… everybody else spends hundreds of dollars to look like The Predator or Hellboy while it only cost him about $40 to put the whole thing together. Corrugated plastic, wood, and markers. He even can change his MySpace ‘mood’.
The thing is, sadly he wasn’t at the event on Saturday night for the contest.
He said he might do YouTube or Facebook for next year but now that people have seen his creation, it’s fair to worry that there might be copycats at next year’s Comic-Con.

After the event ended, on our way back to parking Lot, we encountered two cool people who loved the costume and handed some kind of a business card. Two websites written on it, Evilcheerleaders.com and Skullcore.com. They told Dex that if he sent them the picture of him and his awesome costume, they’d post it on their website, which according to them receives thousands a visit on a daily basis.

Things are looking up for my friend Dex,… the MySpace-Man!
