I’m about to attend the midnight showing of THE HANGOVERS and it’s a good thing the theater doesn’t serve alcohol otherwise we’d have a bunch of audience who couldn’t drive themselves home afterward, besides, I need to remember what I watched so I can write a review anyway.
So in the meantime, let’s go through some blah blah blah.
According to Variety, legendary actress Vanessa Redgrave, International actor Franco Nero, rising star Amanda Seyfried and Mexican sensation Gael Garcia Bernal have all signed on to star in the romantic drama LETTERS TO JULIET for Summit Entertainment.
The story centers on a couple (Seyfried, Garcia) who visit Italy for vacation and somehow receive a note meant for Juliet written by an old woman (Redgrave) searching for a young man who swept her off her feet during vacation in Italy, a long time ago. The young woman scours Tuscany to find the older woman’s long-lost love (Nero).
Nero is a veteran Italian actor whose resume includes list of movies most of us have never heard of, but Rama’s SCREEN reader Moviebuff123 and yours truly recognize him as Gen. Esperanza from Die Hard 2. Yippie Kay Yay!
Guess what.. Redgrave and Nero are a real married couple, which would make this movie even more romantic for all you chick flick lovers out there. Aww!
On a sad note, she had to leave Ridley Scott’s ROBIN HOOD project because her daughter Natasha Richardson (Liam Neeson’s wife) died from a skiing accident a few months ago.
Seems like the legend is ready to get back to work.
OMG, Gael (the man who dumped, OMG, Natalie Portman!) and Vanessa Redgrave in the same flick! In many ways, they´re pretty much alike. Gael has NEVER BEFORE accepted a bad script just for monetary reasons as it is almost the law in Hollywood for young hearthrobs today (they´re building up their “careers”, right?) so this should be a really good one. He even REJECTED A PRADA COMERCIAL some time ago, I couldn´t believe that! His commitment is so fiercely serious, literally no one in show business today is capable of such bravery. That´s why I´ll ALWAYS be supporting the guy. He´s incredibly great not only as an actor but as a loyal human being. GAEL IS AN JEWEL!!!
I totally agree! Gael is a incommon guy and such a talented thespian. He played in the same year, a drag queen in an Almodovar´s film and a young Che Guevara with Walter Salles. I mean, how versatile you have to be to portray such radically different characters? I can understand why a cool and intelligent girl like Natalie Portman was obsessed with him! The guy´s awesome! It´s a pity they´re not together anymore, they were the coolest and one of the most beautiful couples in the world!
Finally Summit is trying something artistically interesting other than cheesy teen flicks with some of the worst actors in the world! Congratulations to Summit for casting such brilliant actors like the legendary Vanessa Redgrave. And Gael of course RULES!!
Amanda Seyfried with Gael Garcia Bernal? Interesting couple. I loved Motorcycle Diaries in which he plays a young Che Guevara, it was so moving…What about Gael and Kristen Stewart? I REALLY think it should work! Plus they would be THE MOST BEAUTIFUL couple in the world (sorry Rob, but true!)!!
