It’s official!
According to Variety, Robert Downey‘s next paycheck will come from playing the world famous fictional detective SHERLOCK HOLMES directed by Guy Ritchie who got hired last month to helm the project.
This is his first job since the successful blockbuster Iron Man.
I’m not too crazy about Robert Downey Jr. wearing a deerstalker cap and holding a smoking pipe, but hey…. the former addict is a talented SOB and he’s done British accent before in the past (Chaplin)
This movie project has nothing to do with the comedy project about Sherlock Holmes that Will Ferell, Sacha Baren Cohen, and Judd Apatow are also going to be doing.
Guy Ritchie’s SHERLOCK HOLMES, will be physically demanding for Robert Downey Jr. because the character will be revamped into someone who’s good at fist fighting, ass kicking as well as deductive reasoning.
It will be an adventure.
I wonder who WB’s gonna pick to play Watson and Moriarty.
So that this deal is locked in, there’s still no word yet on whether he’s going to play Hugh Hefner in the biopic about the founder of Playboy empire.
