I was not thrilled with the movie Zack and Miri Make a Porno, I don’t mind vulgar jokes, as long as they have to be actually funny, but no, Kevin Smith just throws in a bunch of crappy humor in the plot without thinking if it could make the audience laugh at all, those who find that movie funny are probably the same people who find You Don’t Mess With the Zohan hilarious.
I recommend the movie Role Models instead.
I’ve said once before that the Judd Apatow gang are now famous comedy movie stars because their affiliation with Apatow,… or they write their own material and fund their own movies like what Seth Rogen does. What I’m trying to say is that it would take some time for Scorsese or Spielberg to hire Rogen and his friends in any of the real quality movies.
So what does Rogen have up his sleeves for his next project? Sure he has that GREEN HORNET Project, but according to Variety, he and his writing partner, Evan Goldberg, are developing a comedy series for Showtime. It’s about a three twenty-somethings who “learn about life and love” while running a pornography store.
So far, Rogen and Goldberg haven’t disappointed me just yet as far as writing is concerned, their creations: Superbad, Drillbit Taylor and Pineapple Express are some of my all time favorites… so this TV Porno idea, which doesn’t have a title yet, might not be such a bad thing after all.
No word yet on when this could possibly get made, or who would star… but what would you name the series??
