I shared with you the other day the info that broke out and caused a stir all over the interweb, the workprint for the upcoming X-Men Origins: Wolverine got leaked online.. by who? Nobody knows yet but the film producer Tom Rothman ain’t too happy about this. He’s going to find out the douchebag who did it, use him as a punching bag and throw him into the ocean to sleep with the fishes, you can tell I watched one too many Mafia movies.
But here’s what Rothman said via Entertainment Weekly

“The version that went out is unfinished. It’s about 10 minutes shorter, doesn’t have key scenes, it wasn’t edited, and none of the effects shots were in any remotely final form,” Rothman said. “It’s a complete misrepresentation of the film and is deeply unfair to the people who have worked on it for years.”
“We, like everybody, thought our system was secure,” Rothman says. “Just like I’m sure there are lots of banks that get robbed that thought their vault was safe. We thought the post-production pipeline was secure at every juncture. But, obviously, it’s self-evident that it wasn’t. I have a high level of confidence we’ll find out where the lapse in security was and we’ll bring the perpetrators to justice.”

Good luck with that witch-hunt, Rothman! Ya see.. The leaked copy was digital rather than film, making it more difficult to trace. Maybe the dude is hiding in Afghanistan caves with Osama, another person that nobody can find too.
So far Fox is pointing the finger at Australian special effects house Rising Sun was a suspect, due to a watermark that appeared in some scenes but Rising Sun denies allegations because it was never in possession of the complete print. So it’s Fox’s words against Rising Sun’s.
I stand by my previous opinion. I don’t support any type of piracy but I won’t condemn the douchebag who did this either because Fox deserves what it gets for being such a d*ck this past year.
