Via movieweb, I guess today it’s yet another stuff from the gossiptown. Ever since the success of THE DARK KNIGHT which currently is earning $400 million and counting, people have been wondering what would happen in the third movie, if there’s third movie, especially.. which villains are going to be featured
Some say The Riddler should be the villain. I remember last year there were rumor that actor Anthony Michael Hall might be set up to become The Riddler eventually but turned out that he only plays an achorman/journalist for GCN in TDK.
So the rumor right now is… Johnny Depp as The Riddler and Philip Seymour Hoffman as The Penguin.

How would they fit into Christopher Nolan’s dark and psychological vision of the Batman universe?
Would they do a better job than Jim Carrey (Batman Forever) and Danny De Vito (Batman Returns)
