Rumors surrounding superhero-based movies. Even the celebrities themselves heard about all the talking on the internet. Back in October of last year, rumor had it that Rhona Mitra, the hottie from Doomsday and the upcoming Underworld: Rise of the Lycans might be the new CATWOMAN in the next Batman movie. Sci-Fi Wire asked Mitra whether that could be a possibility.
“I wouldn’t say no!,” she said. “I’ve actually [heard that rumor] quite a bit. As far as I know, they’re not even talking about making another one [yet].
I would be over the moon to be involved in something like that. I don’t know who wouldn’t. I just can’t imagine [me] being a reality. Would I accept? Of course!”
One month prior to that rumor, there was another one that hit the web, Desperate Housewives‘ Eva Longoria was spotted walking out of The Marvel offices holding a stack of The Avengers comic books in her hand (Check out the spy photos) and rumor had it she might play THE WASP in THE AVENGERS Movie that is scheduled to hit theaters in 2011
That was the assumption.. nobody even thought that she might have been carrying those just because she likes reading them.
Via MTV, E! Online’s Ryan Seacrest asked her directly and she said that the rumor was “Not True”.
Either that or she just didn’t want to reveal anything to Ryan Seacrest.. if you’re a star about to embark on a pretty significant role that brings awesomeness to geekdom everywhere, would you give the exclusive breaking news to Ryan freakin’ Seacrest?
So… 2 stars have denied 2 rumors but that doesn’t rule them out of their chances… do you think these two girls could play the part?
I think Rachel Weisz would be a better candidate to play Catwoman and after The Sentinel and Over Her Dead Body, I’ve come to the conclusion that it’d be best for Eva Longoria to just stick with TV.
