It’s official, Russell Crowe got nothing to do… ever since the production for the new version of Robin Hood movie, NOTTINGHAM got postponed due to director Ridley Scott wanting the leaves in England to have a certain color, our Gladiator is just trying to fill his time by looking for gigs to do, to keep him busy until the filming starts next year.
Recently, he said he’s in talk to star in the biopic movie about the late comedian Bill Hicks..
Who knows what happens to that project.
And now a rumor has sprung out of a source that’s known to create gossip about new movie projects, the unreliable the Sun claimed that an insider,.. or a little birdie… said that Russell Crowe wants to play Watson in Guy Rithie‘s new project SHERLOCK HOLMES which already cast Robert Downey Jr. as the famous fictional detective
“Russell wants the part, Guy wants Russell. All they’ve got left to do is dot the i’s and cross the t’s.”
Why the hell would Russell Crowe want to play a sidekick? Is he that desperate for something to do while waiting for NOTTINGHAM, that he would just about anything?
On the other hand, maybe it’s not such a bad idea so long as he doesn’t have to keep himself busy during this hiatus by rejoining his band 30 Odd Foot of Grunt and going on a concert tour.
I heard them on The Tonight Show once, their music didn’t sound all that great. I definitely wouldn’t pay ticket to see them perform live.
UPDATE: Director Guy Ritchie told Empire Online that this rumor is NOT true. He said.. “I don’t have a Watson. … Somebody just told me that I have Russell Crowe lined up but that’s news to me. I suspect that hasn’t happened and I’m still looking for my Watson.”.
So, unfortunately, It’s not elementary for you, dear Crowe.
