Just earlier today, comingsoon.net heard from Guy Ritchie himself at the press junket for ROCKNROLLA that actor Mark Strong has been cast in Ritchie’s next project SHERLOCK HOLMES which stars Robert Downey Jr. as the famed fictional detective.
The name Mark Strong is only famous in England and not so much yet here in America…. so is his name a big enough deal for us to explore… probably not, for now.
So whose name is big enough to cover the countries Australia, America, and England??
Mr. Cinderella Man, Russell Crowe!
now we all know that Guy Ritchie said that Crowe was not the one to play the sidekick Watson but El Mayimbe from Latinoreview said it best,.. he never said Crowe wasn’t going to be in the movie at all.
A reliable source at Latinoreview said that there’s a good possibility Russell Crowe is going to play the character Prof. Moriarty who is Sherlock’s arch enemy, mortal nemesis.
See.. now that’s more like it.
Russell Crowe has played a bad guy before (Virtuosity, 3:10 to Yuma)
It’s more convincing than to see him play a sidekick.
No one knows yet who’s going to play Watson, only time will tell… but if you wanna get to know Prof. Moriarti more, just click on his illustrated image below
