SAVED BY THE BELL Movie?

Saved By The Bell

We’ve had Miami Vice movie with new Crockett and new Tubbs, that was darker and grittier than the original series, we’re anticipating THE A-TEAM movie next year, with new cast, that supposedly holds similar tone instead of going comical like the original series. So what do you think of the idea of bringing SAVED BY THE BELL tot he big screen? Panjiba heard that the project is in development and it’s not a reunion movie, there’s a chance it might be an all new cast with cameos from the original members…

My recollection of Saved By The Bell isn’t so well, I haven’t watched that show in years and I didn’t care much for the spin-offs either. So I probably need to watch the re-runs again to refresh my memory of what went down, the relationship between the characters and why Screech could get annoying at times. But I think it’s going to be tough to do because whenever I see images of Elizabeth Berkley as Jessica now, shots of her risque role in Showgirls would run through my mind instead.

The website went on to say that the SAVED BY THE BELL big screen treatment is being developed by Jon Shestack productions (Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, Dan in Real Life) that apparently has secured the rights. Producers Jeremy Stein and Ginny Brewer are sending the project out to writers.
Would you watch it? What do you think the story should be about?

Keep in mind that 21 JUMP STREET, TJ. HOOKER, McGYVER are also in the works.

Check out my list of 10 other 80s series that deserve big screen treatment..

I need to start similar list that consists of series in the early 90s.
