This past year there were rumors that Shia Labeouf’s character Mutt Williams might be the new Indiana Jones. The movie INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL certainly flirted with the idea, the fact that Shia’s character is Indy’s son and that at the end scene he was about to pick up the big hat and almost put it on right before Indy took it away from him.. Ha! Gotcha, sucka! Young punks should know better not to mess with the master… well, Indiana didn’t really say that to Mutt but he should’ve
Harrison Ford talked to Moviefone recently clarifying everything, making sure his fans understand that there no plans to transition the franchise to Shia in the future
“that’s never been [the idea]. As George has famously said, we’d have to call it ‘Mutt Jones: The Search for Elvis.’ [Laughs.] I think it just doesn’t work that way.”
Oh, that’s a relief. Shia just doesn’t have the charm, man! Plus the whole Tarzan moment just kills it for me.
But.. INDIANA JONES Franchise will continue. Lucas is thinking about the fifth installment and what it might be about.
I betcha right now he’s thinking… hmm… I’ve thrown in the CG Gophers, the spaceship, the nuked fridge.. how can I top that?
