So So That's Why DC Comics Movies Aren't As Kick-Ass As Marvel Movies. Thanks, Joss Whedon

Joss Whedon isn’t just about Buffy, Angel, or Dollhouse, he’s written some comic book series including Astonishing X-Men so if there’s one man on earth who can criticize DC Comics and get away with it, it’s Joss Whedon and boy did he speak his mind and preach the truth, he’s basically saying the reason why DC Comics is having a hard time getting their heroes to the big screen is because we the audiences find it hard to relate to those characters, whereas Marvel superheroes can be like everyday man. Via The Geek Files..

“Because, with that one big exception (Batman), DC’s heroes are from a different era. They’re from the era when they were creating gods.

“And the thing that made [rival publisher] Marvel Comics extraordinary was that they created people. Their characters didn’t living in mythical cities, they lived in New York. They absolutely were a part of the world. Peter Parker’s character (Spider-Man) was a tortured adolescent.

“DC’s characters, like Wonder Woman and Superman and Green Lantern, were all very much removed from humanity. Batman was the only character they had who was so rooted in pain, that had that same gift that the Marvel characters had, which was that gift of humanity that we can relate to.”

Preach it, Whedon! He’s got a big mouth for he makes sense. With the success of last year’s Iron Man and Incredible Hulk and the anticipation of upcoming projects that include Thor, Captain America, and The Avengers movie, Marvel is unstoppable.. and eventhough I’m not too ga-ga over the return of Peter Parker and Mary Jane, who can forget the upcoming development of Spiderman 4 and 5

DC Comics only got BATMAN to brag about and even that is only because of Christopher Nolan’s brilliant vision as a director.
JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA Movie project was one of the things talked about last year but then it died because there was no agreement on the story, casting, or basically the direction of the whole thing.
