It’s normal for one filmmaker to check out the works of other filmmakers, show and tell or just plain show-off mostly.
Hell recently it was revealed that James Cameron’s upcoming 3D sci-fi epic AVATAR motivated Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson to make TINTIN movie. Speaking of AVATAR, it’s fair to say that we haven’t seen jack much, not official footage, new poster, or even official trailer even though the movie’s scheduled to open this year on December 18th, 2009
But, via comingsoon.net, Director Steven Soderbergh (Ocean’s Eleven) has seen parts of the movie and he is euphoric about it.
“I’ve seen some stuff and holy sh*t. It’s the craziest sh*t ever. That could negate everything…,”
Ya know how the first Star Wars movie was so amazing that it started a culture phenomenon that lasts til forever, could AVATAR be that next big thing? A milestone to be admired for years to come? Soderberg seems to think so.
