The title of this post should’ve been ‘STOMP THE YARD 2 Is Happening And Columbus Short Returns And I Dont’ Give A Damn’. The first one was okay but I thought How She Move was the better step dancing movie. Asking if it needs a sequel is like asking if anything Hollywood does these days need a sequel but it will happen anyway…
Hollywood Reporter says writer/director Rob Hardy (The Gospel) is set to helm has signed on to helm STOMP THE YARD 2: HOMECOMING for Rainforest Films.
It doesn’t say who the scribe is what the plot will be but Columbus Short, who you can see this fall in the thriller Armored, is expected to reprise his role as DJ, a master street dancer.
Production will start early next month in Atlanta.
The 2007 dance flick was made with $13 Million budget and it earned a total of $75 Million worldwide. That’s a studio’s motivation for a sequel.
What a waste of money. Such a shame. If rainforest wants to waste that kind of money they should just donate to the ‘Keep the Hobbit movie Alive’ foundation. At least it would be for a better cause and the money would to something that would be more benefitting for everyone.
LOL… and LOTR fans everywhere would thank you for this idea
