Last month, there was talk that Summit Entertainment was already working on the sequels.. and Rama’s SCREEN reader Heather who clearly is a big fan of TWILIGHT books left this comment “I love Twilight and I hope that we get a movie for all 4 books. It wouldn’t be fair if they didn’t. So many of us put our heart and soul into loving these characters and want to see it all. We want more books too maybe from Edwards perspective (the whole series) and then the lives of Jacob and Renesmee. Just one Twilighter opinion”
Well, you’ll be euphoric to know, Heather, that according to Hollywood Reporter, Summit Entertainment has officially bought the rights to all of the next three novels in author Stephenie Meyer‘s blockbuster vampire romance series and has hired Twilight screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg to pen scripts based on the second and third book respectively…NEW MOON which is about Edward leaving Bella, sending Bella into a depression and a friendship with another vampire, ECLIPSE in which relationship triangle evolves, while evil empires begin to pursue Bella.. I’ve never read any of the books.
The fourth book, BREAKING DAWN doesn’t have a writer yet,… but I’m sure it’s just a matter of pay negotiation deal, Melissa Rosenberg probably would get on that thing as soon as the money’s good.
It is said that all these three Twilight sequels will be filmed back to back… kinda like Pirates of the Caribbean Sequels and The Matrix Sequels. They’re wasting no time at all.
I’ve never read any of the books but….Wouldn’t adapting the TWILIGHT sequel books into a TV series rather than Movies be a much better idea?? Because it sees like there’s so much ground to cover.
TWILIGHT opens November 21st and is expected to hit huge at the box office
