Real quick now, a couple of months ago, IESB reported that Sam Raimi’s new project might be THE SHADOW and the website even had read the draft by Siavash Farahanl whose approach to the story is similar to “The Punisher” and “Batman”.. It’s a hardcore R-rated script with “a man thrown into meat grinder and coming out as ground beef on the other side. Broken bones at every turn. Body parts strewn around a train station. Hookers servicing males”. Latinoreview today said that the project is no longer with Sony Pictures, it is now housed at Fox. The directing job might go to David Slade, the dude who brought us Hard Candy, 30 Days Of Night and the upcoming Twilight Saga: ECLIPSE but Raimi will still be involved as a producer.

ZOMBIELAND Scribes To Write DEADPOOL
I wanted Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick to somehow pull a coup d’etat on GHOSTBUSTERS 3 script and do a rewrite but that’s not the project that they’re going to be tackling. Zombieland left such an awesome impression that according to Variety, 20th Century Fox has hired Reese and Wernick to write the screenplay for the live action DEADPOOL starring Ryan Reynolds… Read the rest of this entry »

Fox Gets Goldsman To Produce FANTASTIC FOUR The Reboot
Well that was quick. On the same day that Disney said it’s buying Marvel entertainment, Fox is putting on the fast track its plan to re-boot FANTASTIC FOUR. Disney may own Marvel’s 5000 characters but the previous deals Marvel made with other studios before today’s shocking event remain in motion until further notice. That means Fox which has been responsible for X-Men movies, X-Men Origins: Wolverine and its Japan story sequel, Deadpool spin-off and of course FANTASTIC FOUR, can still control these titles as long as it continues making the movies while Marvel remains a producer and financial participant through a licensing agreement.
Variety reported that Fox has summoned Akiva Goldsman, the Oscar winning screenwriter of A Beautiful Mind and producer of I Am Legend, to be the producer and to oversee FANTASTIC FOUR the reboot.
The new script will be written by Michael Green, the co-writer of the upcoming DC adaptation, GREEN LANTERN starring Ryan Reynolds
No word yet whether Ioan Gruffud, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis will reprise their roles again as Mr. Fantastic, The Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and The Thing. But let’s face it, they were awful and why bother calling it a reboot if you keep the same players?!
The first movie, Fantastic Four (2005) was made with a budget of $100 Million and only earned $150 Million, the second one did just as bad, Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer (2007) was made with a budget of $130 Million and only earned $131 Million.
Who do you think should be cast as the new FANTASTIC FOUR?
