Kick-Ass

This evening has gotten KICK-ASS! Lionsgate did test screenings last week which I didn’t go to and with that they’ve unleashed the first teaser for the adaptation of Mark Millar graphic novel, via the official website. NOWHERE BOY Trailer

Nowhere Boy

We previously saw official stills that showed actor Aaron Johnson (the upcoming Kick-Ass) as young John Lennon but looked more like Buddy Holly. The trailer for the biopic NOWHERE BOY has hit the web, which you can watch using the media player below and in one quick scene you’d see Lennon wanting to have that Buddy Holly look. I guess if you’re an aspiring rock star and in need of a hero, you can’t go wrong with looking up to Holly.
Nobody in this movie looks the part, not even actor Thomas Sangster could resemble or at least impersonate Paul McCartney, this only means that they’re going to have work twice as hard to prove themselves worthy of playing these icons.
TWC was supposed to distribute NOWHERE BOY to U.S. audience later this year but plans changed and it might arrive early next year instead. The script was written by scribe Matt Greenhalgh who penned the music biopic Control about singer Ian Curtis, the frontman of Joy Division. Watch the trailer after the jump… Read the rest of this entry »

Look At NOWHERE BOY First Photos And Poster

It’s been slightly more than a year since the announcement that director Sam Taylor Wood is making an adaptation of NOWHERE BOY that chronicles John Lennon in early years. The script was written by scribe Matt Greenhalgh who penned the music biopic Control about singer Ian Curtis, the frontman of Joy Division.
I thought Paul Dano would be perfect to play Lennon but Aaron Johnson (the upcoming Kick-Ass) won the role. And now, via The Playlist, take a look at these first look photos of NOWHERE BOY, plus the movie’s small poster. NOWHERE BOY premieres at London Film Festival, TWC was supposed to distribute it to U.S. audience later this year but plans changed and it might arrive early next year instead. I’ll watch the movie out of respect for one of the greatest songwriters that ever lived but the only thing I don’t like about this is.. They made Johnson/Lennon look more like a cross between Buddy Holly and Cillian Murphy, you’ll see what I mean when you check out the rest of the images after this jump… Read the rest of this entry »

Look At Mintz-Plasse As KICK-ASS Red Mist

Posted by Rama On July - 8 - 2009

Red Mist

McLovin’ is going to Kick some ass! Take a look at this new image from the upcoming adaptation KICK-ASS, via MTV, directed by Matthew Vaughn based on the graphic novel by Wanted creator Mark Millar about a lonely teenage boy named Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), who decides to become a Real-life superhero after being inspired by the heroes of comic-books. He soon encounters a mysterious vigilante called Big-Daddy/Damon Macready (Nicolas Cage), and his daughter Hit Girl (Chloe Moretz), who are working to bring down a drug baron.
McLovin’, ehm, I mean Christopher Mintz-Plasse plays Chris D’Amico, a young vigilante inspired by the exploits of Dave Lizewski and so D’Amico becomes his alter-ego The Red Mist. That’s him in the image above, what do you think of his costume?

MTV also reported that KICK-ASS Movie will feature animated sequences and some significant differences from the comic book and that the first footage from the film will screen at Comic-Con at the KICK-ASS panel on Thursday, July 23rd, Mintz-Plasse, Vaughn and comic co-creator Romita Jr. will be there
