Superheroes In History

Photoshop work is always fun, Agan Harahap imagined what it would look like if our awesome superheroes were involved in world’s history, specifically during the war. This kinda reminds me of Watchmen intro and how they were involved in history as well. View some of the images, via Collider, after the jump… Read the rest of this entry »

Collegehumor imagines what it would be like if our caped crusader wasn’t as smooth as he made himself to be. Watch the hilarious vibrant video below… Read the rest of this entry »

Collegehumor has come up with a vibrant video above as a painful reminder to Bruce Wayne, the vulnerable protector of Gotham City.

Christopher Nolan, The Sole Writer of Dark Knight Sequel

Posted by Rama On February - 18 - 2009

christopher-nolan

Here’s to all of us fans of The Dark Knight, man I respect that movie so much, I still haven’t unwrapped its DVD that I bought last Christmas.. It’ll be like one of those collections that remain classic.

Christopher Nolan may be making INCEPTION as his next movie gig, but IGN has found out that his name is attached to the Dark Knight sequel or the third Nolan’s Batman movie.

Studios and guild members are required to submit work lists to the guilds of the projects that they are on.
A work list from Warner Bros. was submitted last week listing Christopher Nolan as the sole screenwriter on Batman 3.

The names Jonathan Nolan and David Goyer aren’t found on that list but it doesn’t necessarily mean they won’t be on board either.. only time will tell.
Word has it, via Batmanonfilms, Nolan’s deal with WB on INCEPTION includes an agreement that he would make a Dark Knight sequel.
Kinda like how Matt Damon feels that he has to do BOURNE 4 now because he received great funding from Universal for his GREEN ZONE war movie project.

Can We Handle More BATMAN Movies?

Posted by Rama On February - 6 - 2009

Batman Dark Knight

Here’s an info that has spread like wildfire over the web recently, Via SAI, Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes, owner of Warner Bros., mentioned that the plan is to make as many more Batman movies as possible… possibly until the end of time… or 2012 according to Nostradamus. Point is.. as long it hits bank at the box office,.. we should be expecting the Caped Crusader to keep showing up on the big screen more often than ever.

“The obvious thing we’re going to take from it is more Dark Knight. We look at Harry Potter, it’s fantastic to have franchises that last that long. We want to do that with Batman and Superman and perhaps Sherlock Holmes. The sequels are as good, with new characters added, as were the originals. That wasn’t the case years ago.”

But how many more Batman movie is Christopher Nolan willing to tackle? God help us if he decided to not continue and some douche like Joel Schumacher comes along again and ruin the franchise like in the 90s.
I don’t mind with more Batman movies but after a while not only will it run the risk of losing its excitement,.. it also runs the risk of being passed on to a filmmaker who doesn’t know what he’s doing.
What do you think? Or do you think we should just stop at The Dark Knight and leave it at that as a classic?

Goyer, Chris and John Nolan Are Writing DARK KNIGHT Sequel?

IESB got a bunch of exclusives lately, one after another that website shares some kick-ass info.. so better jot this down..
- GET SMART 2 is underway and going to hit theaters in Spring 2010
- Scribe Dan Mazeau who’s in charge of JOHNNY QUEST Movie script has been given the blessings by WB to write THE FLASH Live action movie.
- The Dark Knight producer Chuck Roven isn’t involved with ROBOTECH movie project anymore..
which brings us to the biggest of them all.
IESB heard from a reliable source that Christopher Nolan and brother Jonathan Nolan and their writing partner David Goyer are already working on the script for the third BATMAN installment, the sequel to The Dark Knight.
Of course when Chuck Roven was asked about this, he didn’t wanna reveal anything much. Here’s the guy who hinted/implied that The Joker might return but probably with a different actor.
Well none of us know if this is true for now but sometimes rumors like this need to come along just to give us fans that boost of excitement… after the success of The Dark Knight.. it’s going to be tough for Nolan brothers and Goyer to top their previous masterpiece. Hopefully they’re thinking about it and writing it down as we speak.
What do you think the story should be about?

It’s not Batman part 6!

Batman-Bale

Some interviewers are just idiots, just like those who keep showing up to ask Edward Norton if his Hulk was a continuation of Ang Lee’s boring Hulk. And for the millionth time Edward Norton had to explain that it’s a complete reboot, a remake and got nothing to do with the fist movie.
Same with Christian Bale’s Batman. It’s got nothing to do with Tim Burton’s Batmans or Joel Schumacher’s colorful, silly Batmans (Batman Forever, Batman & Robin).
This is an excerpt from EW.com and a chat with the dude who’s going to be the next John Connor…

Interviewer: So do you think there will be a part 3 of Batman?

Christian Bale: Um, look, let’s wait and see…

Interviewer: Or, I guess it’d be part 6.

Christian Bale: No, no, no, no, no. [Smiling] Part 3 is what I’d consider it, yeah, I don’t say part 6. Batman begins — that was the beginning there, with all due respect to the others. We are re-creating this. You know, obviously the decision is out of my hands. I would, knowing the Dark Knight story, I would like very much to complete a trilogy. And I think that knowing the story of The Dark Knight, it leaves you anticipating something that really can get very, very interesting for a third. Now, the question would be: Is Chris going to be doing it? Because to me I find it tricky to imagine working on it without it being a collaboration with Chris.

He’s got a point, after THE DARK KNIGHT, which I predict would be a very successful, awesome movie, the world might find it difficult to see it handed over to another director. Frankly some guy might just ruin the franchise once again.
I sure hope WB would come up with a rewarding deal to appreciate and keep Christopher Nolan to at least make a third movie. Christ did say in one of his chats that he makes every movie and he treats it like he’s making the last movie without ever thinking of any sequel or continuation.
That’s a good attitude because what we get is a quality to the very best in each movie.

The world has nothing to worry about who’s going to play the next Batman because Christian Bale has signed on for three movies. He was however, upset about WB’s plan to make Justice League of America Movie which includes character Batman knowing that his Batman is still alive and strong.
I’m guessing if there’s going to be a third Batman film, Two-Face will most likely be the main villain with some other villain’s story on the horizon.

Batman in New York

Posted by Rama On March - 10 - 2008

the dark knightNew York Times has this long article which includes spoilers and insights to the upcoming installment, my most anticipate movie of the year, THE DARK KNIGHT.
I’m always up for whatever info may come about this awesome project, ya see how I already declare it awesome even when I haven’t seen it yet.
Overall, it’s a pretty good article actually, it’s got a few new images, it’s very gloomy because it not only reveals what director Christopher Nolan has prepared in order to stun us again with this franchise, but the serious mood of the post-production project due to Heath’s untimely death.
But still, people are talking about how ‘terrifying’ his Joker version came out to be and that is something I’m very curious to see when the movie comes out July 18th, 2008.
Here are some excerpts…

“It picks up where ‘Batman Begins’ left off, with Mr. Oldman’s police lieutenant, Jim Gordon, warning about the perils of escalation: that Batman’s extreme measures could invite a like response from the criminal element. And sure enough, a deadly new villain, the Joker, emerges to wreak havoc.”

The Dark Knight

In Mr. Bale’s view “The Dark Knight” is an even lonelier outing for his character, who once naïvely thought his crime fighting could be a finite endeavor. “This escalation has now meant that he feels more of a duty to continue,” he said. “And now you have not just a young man in pain attempting to find some kind of an answer, you have somebody who actually has power, who is burdened by that power, and is having to recognize the difference between attaining that power and holding on to it.”

Mr. Ledger, however, also called it “the most fun I’ve ever had, or probably ever will have, playing a character.” But his fatigue was obvious, said Michael Caine, who briefly overlapped with him. “He was exhausted, I mean he was really tired. I remember saying to him, ‘I’m too old to have the bloody energy to play that part.’ And I thought to myself, I didn’t have the energy when I was his age.”

Mr. Pfister, the cinematographer, said Mr. Ledger seemed “like he was busting blood vessels in his head,” he was so intense. “It was like a séance, where the medium takes on another person and then is so completely drained.”
