ET visited the set of BURLESQUE and interviewed the cast including legendary Cher, the newly Oscar nominated Stanley Tucci, hottie Kristen Bell and rookies Christina Aguilera and Julianne Hough, they’re talking about their characters, admiring Cher and each other. BURLESQUE. the ambitious small-town girl with a big-town voice who finds love and success in a neo-burlesque club on Sunset Boulevard that’s run by Tess (Cher), a former dancer who struggles to keep the club open and gives the young girl a chance to shine. Kristen Bell and Christina Aguilera fighting it out on the big screen, it’s the dream of every man. According to Hollywood Reporter, Sarah Marshall a.k.a Veronica Mars a.k.a hottie Kristen Bell will co-star in BURLESQUE along with Christina Aguilera and Cher.

Screen Gems’ musical drama being directed by Steve Antin is about an ambitious small-town girl (Aguilera) with a big-town voice who finds love and success in a neo-burlesque club on Sunset Boulevard that’s run by Tess (Cher), a former dancer who struggles to keep the club open and gives the young girl a chance to shine. The place is said to be reminiscent of the nightclub in Bob Fosse’s Cabaret.
Bell plays Nikki, the loose-cannon lead dancer and main attraction at the club who gets all mad and out of control when Aguilera’s character suddenly gets the spotlight.
Also starring Stanley Tucci as the man who helps Aguilera’s character gets her big break.
Ah…The possibility of watching Kristen Bell and Christina Aguilera fighting it out on the big screen.. we just need to sit back, relax, eat popcorn and enjoy the show
Production starts Nov. 9, BURLESQUE is set to open in Thanksgiving 2010.

There was a time when Cher used to look stunning but now even after many botox and countless plastic surgeries, she looks like a slightly better lookin’ Morticia from The Addams Family. Can she still sing? yes. Can she still act? yes. Can she still perform and dazzle the audience? And those reasons are why we’re going to see her on the big screen in BURLESQUE.

According to Variety, the woman who won Oscar for one of my favorite movies in the 80s, Moonstruck, is going to join Christina Aguilera in the musical movie about an ambitious small-town Iowa girl with a big voice who comes of age in a neo-burlesque club on Sunset Boulevard that’s run by Tess, a former dancer who struggles to keep the club open and gives the young girl a chance to shine. Cher is set to play Tess.

Although Cher was in the Farelly Brothers’ comedy Stuck On You in 2003, BURLESQUE actually will mark her return to singing on screen since Tea with Mussolini a decade ago.
Production starts in November, to be directed by Steven Antin who wrote the script with revision by Susannah Grant

Christina Aguilera used to be a girl who I thought would be the next diva. By diva I mean women with great vocal abilities like the Celine Dion, Aretha Franklin, Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston used to be back in their prime,… back before Mariah went crazy and Whitney did blow.
I thought it was absolutely unnecessary for Aguilera to show off so much skin because she’s already got an amazing voice that could get her far in her professional respectable career but then it hit me, why on earth am I complaining?!

According to Variety, the Grammy Award winner will finally get her first acting gig in a movie. Well, to be fair, the role doesn’t require her to try hard because one, it was written with her in mind, and two, it’s about an ambitious smalltown girl with a big voice who finds love. I wouldn’t be surprised if the rolling credit at the end state ‘Christina Aguilera as herself’

This musical movie is titled BURLESQUE because Aguilera’s character will find herself in a Los Angeles neo-burlesque club that appears to be right out of Bob Fosse’s CABARET. Written and directed by Steve Antin.
The idea is to turn Christina Aguilera into the next Beyonce who’s evidently enjoying her film career as well as her music.
