Ha! I kid you not, we should just play a game each night, trying to guess who will be talked about tomorrow as the possible lead actor for THE FIRST AVENGER: CAPTAIN AMERICA, the winner gets to take comfort in knowing that they’ve indirectly participated in one of the most hilarious casting searches ever. Pacino Yells At SON OF NO ONE

Al Pacino, Channing Tatum

Ooh-Rah!!.. For some reason I remember some scenes from Scent Of A Woman, classic! Al Pacino, still the greatest actor of all time in my book, although it wouldn’t hurt for him to apologize for 88 Minutes and Righteous Kill, but I probably put more blame on director Jon Avnet for those two catastrophes. Hollywood Reporter said Pacino has signed on to star in SON OF NO ONE, playing the role that was initially meant for his old friend Robert De NiroRead the rest of this entry »

Channing Tatum Antonio Banderas

Just this past week, we heard about additional cast that have signed on for Steven Soderberg-directed KNOCKOUT, a bunch of famous male actors who are going to make the lead star, MMA hottie fighter Gina Carano, look more kick-ass than she already does. Now The Playlist got some more info, Channing Tatum has joined the cast and Antonio Banderas is in talks to join this spy/revenge thriller project as well.. Read the rest of this entry »

THE EAGLE OF THE NINTH New Images

Eagle Of The Ninth Image

Seems like Focus Features is giving you New Year’s present in the form of new images from the upcoming THE EAGLE OF THE NINTH, via Yahoo, in addition to the previous one. Directed by Kevin Macdonald, starring Channing Tatum, Jamie Bell, Donald Sutherland, Mark Strong. So while in spring, Worthington is going to clash with the titans, in fall, Tatum is going to fight the Celtics.  I still don’t think Tatum is a talented actor but we’re just going to have to get used to the idea that Hollywood is prepping him to be the next big thing. DEAR JOHN Trailer

Dear John

Screen Gems has released the trailer for DEAR JOHN via moviefone. Obviously, a movie for female audiences only, some of you are probably going ‘yes, a movie that I can cry about!’
Can Channing Tatum act? Judging it from this trailer may not be a good indicator but it seems like he’s developed some skills he never had before.
I think it’s fair to say that The Notebook is one of the most heartfelt romantic drama of this decade. Can DEAR JOHN top that success is the big question.
The poster is via IMpawards, check out both of them after this jump… Read the rest of this entry »

Mickey Rourke The ICE MAN?

Posted by Rama On September - 24 - 2009

Ice Man

Not too long ago Phil Carlo who penned the book THE ICE MAN: CONFESSIONS OF A MAFIA CONTRACT KILLER about an actual killer named Richard Kuklinski, killed the contract with producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, because Carlo heard that Channing Tatum was in negotiation to star in this biopic and just like that, the best seller author pulled the plug on the deal and refused to extend the option and all because he couldn’t stand the idea of Tatum playing Kukliniski.

“I had to turn him down. I really hated the idea of Channing Tatum. I told di Bonaventura that this is not the guy to play one of the most feared killers of the 20th Century,”
“I think Mickey Rourke would really be good. He’s got that sense of danger, and there’s a similarity between the two. But it’s not Channing Tatum.”

Carlo might get his way after all, that is the following info turns out to be true. NY Post says the author has met with Mickey Rourke, they’re producing the movie together and production may start in the Spring in New Jersey, New York and Florida.
Carlo said Rourke thinks ICE MAN would be like his Raging Bull.
For now, take this all with a grain of salt until we hear any type of confirmation

I looked up Wikipedia and found that this Kukliniski dude got a seriously devil son mean reputation.
“He worked for several Italian-American crime families, and claimed to have murdered over 200 men over a career that lasted 30 years; he killed his first victim at age 13.
One of his favorite methods of disposing of a body was to place it in a 55-gallon oil drum. His other disposal methods included dismemberment, burial, or placing the body in the trunk of a car and having it crushed in a junkyard. He also claimed to have left bodies sitting on park benches, thrown bodies down “bottomless pits” and fed still-alive victims to giant rats in Pennsylvania.”

Last week I had the chance to interview the awesome mixed martial art fighter turned actor, Cung Le. George Clooney Is Too Old For Jack Ryan

Posted by Rama On August - 13 - 2009

George Clooney

When George Clooney and his business partner producer Grant Heslov packed up and moved from WB to Sony not too long ago, info hit the web that Clooney was looking to do commercial maintenance gig by playing Jack Ryan if Paramount would want to revive the franchise based on Tom Clancy novels.

I thought at the time and I still stand by my opinion that George Clooney would be the perfect Jack Ryan, it’ll bring back the good old days Alec Baldwin and Harrison Ford and make us forget Ben Affleck’s involvement ever existed. Hell if Clooney was British, he’d make the perfect James Bond.
But MTV talked to producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura and he has another plan in mind..

“We submitted a script to Paramount recently,”
“It was well-received and it’s in the process.”
“It’s for a young Jack Ryan. I love George, but it’s not written for a man of his age. It’s written for a guy in his early 30s.”

I don’t know if I can trust di Bonaventura’s desire to cast younger actors, I don’t know if I can even trust di Bonaventura at all nowadays. Just this year alone, he’s been associated as a producer of Imagine That, Transformers 2 and the recent G.I. Joe movie.
And don’t forget the recent outrage that author Phil Carlo expressed because di Bonaventura wants to cast Channing Tatum in the biopic project ICE MAN. God forbid Bonaventura casts Tatum as Jack Ryan.

Author Kills ICE MAN Because He Hates Channing Tatum

Posted by Rama On August - 9 - 2009

Ice Man Channing Tatum

Channing Tatum is a terrible actor, let me just throw it out there. I’m not speaking cause I’m some kind of f*ing Oscar winner but I’ve watched enough movies to make the difference between the great ones and.. Tatum. He was Duke in the recent G.I. JOE: THE RISE OF COBRA and I mentioned in my review that just like in Zoolander, where Ben Stiller’s character only has one facial expression to respond to any situation, that’s how Tatum was in the movie. It’s not a lost cause, he just needs to get a decent acting coach because right now his looks are all he’s got and acting skills are nowhere within his reach. Somebody else shares the same sentiment.

Ya see.. there’s this author named Phil Carlo who penned the book THE ICE MAN: CONFESSIONS OF A MAFIA CONTRACT KILLER about an actual killer named Richard Kuklinski. In 2006, it was optioned by super producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, the man behind G.I. JOE movie. Long story short, according to NY Post, after 18-months the option ran out but di Bonaventura asked to extend the contract for two more weeks so he could get the finances together but check this…. Carlo heard that Channing Tatum was in negotiation to star in this biopic and just like that, the best seller author pulled the plug on the deal and refused to extend the option and all because he couldn’t stand the idea of Tatum playing Kukliniski.

No retaliation comment yet from di Bonaventura’s camp but I’m sure we’ll hear something juicy soon enough.
I looked up Wikipedia and found that this Kukliniski dude got a seriously devil son mean reputation.

Yeah.. I can’t picture Tatum in this role… he doesn’t have what it takes to pull this off. They should cast somebody with a talent to push the envelope, someone who can be give that intimidating stare and kill in cold blood, someone with no remorse.. someone like… Michael C. Hall (TV’s Dexter) but that would be too obvious and I don’t think he’d wanna be typecast.
