Back in November, a very adventurous, interesting idea was being developed into a movie, ARABIAN NIGHTS unlike the usual folklore. Written by Russell and Barry P. Ambrose, to be directed by Chuck Russell (The Mask, Eraser, The Scorpion King), this 3D action/adventure will center on “a young commander who, after his king is killed in a palace coup, joins forces with Sinbad, Aladdin and his genie to rescue Scheherazade and her kingdom from dark powers”, they now have their young commander… Read the rest of this entry »

Director Kenneth Branagh has found his Odin and it’s not Brian Blessed as previously rumored. According to Variety, the man who will play the ruler of Asgard, father of the mighty God of thunder THOR, is none other than the great Sir Anthony Hopkins (Beowulf, Fracture, Alexander) or as Hollywood would call him.. the go-to guy when they need an actor who’s old and wise and badass all at once… Read the rest of this entry »
Schweighöfer, Law, And De Niro In THOR?
Whoa! Now this is a rumor worth paying attention to AICN, actor Matthias Schweighofer who we saw in Valkyrie talked to German Edition GQ and revealed that he’s going to be in the live action movie THOR but here’s the shocker,.. he also said that Jude Law and Robert De Niro have joined the cast.
Holy smokes.. I wonder who they’re going to play. These 2 individuals aren’t small timers, and along with Natalie Portman, they round up Oscar calibers playing supporting roles in a movie that stars a non-famous actor in the lead.
Chris Hemsworth plays the hero with the mighty hammer and Tom Hiddleston as the villain Loki and Natalie Portman as THOR’s mortal love interest Nurse Jane. Jaimie Alexander plays Sif, the tough female Asgardian warrior, also starring Stellan Skarsgard and Colm Feore
Collider also said that comic book legend Stan Lee already met with director Kenneth Branagh about doing a cameo for THOR, but Lee doesn’t know yet what his few seconds role will be. What do you think it should be?
This epic adventure spans the Marvel Universe; from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard. Thor is cast down to Earth and forced to live among humans as punishment. Once here, Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth

THOR Is Looking For You To Play These Roles
The live action THOR movie opens May 20th, 2011 with Chris Hemsworth as the God of thunder with the mighty hammer, Tom Hiddleston as the villain Loki, Jaimie Alexander as Sif and Natalie Portman as Nurse Jane. But before they start production, director Kenneth Branagh is still looking for anyone worthy to play the following roles. Here’s the casting call via SpoilerTV. Do you have what it takes?
[MARCY LEWIS]

However, she’s been stuck for months in this small New Mexico town and relegated to a wide range of unglamorous activities. Kate has been particularly hard on Marcy, making it her personal project to see that Marcy lives up to her potential. Marcy deals with her situation both by using subtle irony and by being an overt wiseass.

Stellan Skarsgard Joins THOR
If we can’t get the son, we might have to settle for the father. Back in Spring, an info hit the web that actor Alexander Skarsgard (HBO’s True Blood) might be the one to play the god of thunder in THOR live action movie, but eventually director Kenneth Branagh chose Aussie new star Chris Hemsworth (Star Trek) for the job.
Now the Swedish site Ystads Allehanda reported that Alex’s dad Stellan Skarsgard (Mamma Mia, Angels & Demons) has joined the cast of THOR although his role hasn’t been disclosed.
Stellan Skarsgård is ready for a role in action movie “Thor.”
Everything is still secret about the project and Skarsgård can not reveal what role he will play.
“They wanted me to sign without reading the script. That I refused to do. Then they sent one to me that was so coded that I could only print one copy,” said Stellan Skarsgård to TT spectra.
Some time ago it was said that Stellan Skarsgård’s son, Alexander Skarsgård, was on his way to the title role in “Thor.” In the end however, it became Chris Hemsworth, known for “Star Trek,” who got the job.
Seems like Skarsgard and co-star Colm Feore are keeping it hush-hush, I wonder what the big deal is about. But more than that, I wonder how Stellan feels joining the project that could’ve, should’ve starred his own son, if it was even easy for Stellan to sign on.

Jaimie Alexander To Play Sif In THOR
THOR movie has found it Sif. According to Hollywood Reporter, Jaimie Alexander who starred in the canceled series Kyle XY, will play Sif in the Marvel big screen version directed by Kenneth Branagh, already starring Chris Hemsworth as the hero with the mighty hammer and Tom Hiddleston as the villain Loki and Natalie Portman as THOR’s mortal love interest Nurse Jane.
Sif is a tough female Asgardian warrior who grew up with THOR. So there’s a love triangle story here that will be explored a bit because according to Marvel, the god of thunder is in love with Nurse Jane but then is also passionate about Sif. But sadly Sif likes the world of gods better and THOR, on the other hand, finds home in earth. We’ll see if the movies does its own version.
Alexander isn’t the only one that recently joined the cast, veteran actor Colm Feore (TV’s 24) is also in but his role is currently kept secret. Word has it the studio isn’t even sending him the script, though he would most likely play a villain.

Jessica Biel To Join THOR?
Until we hear confirmation, take the following with a grain of salt. According to NukeTheFridge (cool name for a site), 7th Heaven wonder Jessica Biel is in talks to star in Kenneth Branagh-directed live action Marvel movie, THOR already starring Aussie newcomer Chris Hemsworth (Star Trek) as the god of thunder who holds the mighty hammer and Brit actor Tom Hiddleston as the villain Loki.
The website said that Biel might play the love interest, Jane Fonda, the girlfriend of Thor’s alter ego, Donald Blake.
The problem with this info is that back a few months ago, it was announced that Natalie Portman was supposed to get the role as the female lead, or has there been a change we didn’t know about?
So the rumor went on saying that Biel might play an Asgardian female warrior named Sif, featured in the animated movie Hulk Vs. Thor, really cool movie by the way.
Nothing’s certain for now.. my guess is Biel probably auditioned but doesn’t mean she got the part. I feel half-sorry for those actors out there fighting over coveted roles, why can’t they just listen to Jack Black’s philosophy.. ‘Write your own material!’ Making your own movie, your own creation, with your friends is always more fun anyway.
I watched Powder Blue and Easy Virtue and it’s clear to see that Jessica Biel has a damn fine body but her acting is mediocre to say the very least. It takes more than just taking off your clothes to be considered great like Marisa Tomei and Halle Berry because those women actually disappeared in their characters, plus Biel just doesn’t leave a lasting impression, her performance doesn’t stay with you after you’ve done watching her movie.
