SUPER BOWL XLIV Movie Ads
It’s that time of year again, SUPER BOWL XLIV is almost upon us, that means we’re going to see a bunch of TV spots and ads for upcoming blockbuster movies that will blow your mind. Between you and me, I’m actually looking forward to beer and doritos commercials cause they’re always the most hilarious ones of the bunch. Via Adage, Universal, Paramount, and Disney have all bought their share time, keep in mind that it costs about $3 Million for a 30 second spot. That is wrath of God money I do not have my friends…
So, for SUPER BOWL XLIV, Universal might unleash spots for ROBIN HOOD or WOLFMAN and DESPICABLE ME, Walt Disney might offer spots for ALICE IN WONDERLAND, PRINCE OF PERSIA: THE SANDS OF TIME and TOY STORY 3, of course Paramount will be highlighting SHUTTER ISLAND, IRON MAN 2, and THE LAST AIRBENDER.

DESPICABLE ME Trailer
Universal has released the trailer for DESPICABLE ME starring the voice of Steve Carrell. I can’t comment much right now cause I’m in Hawaii, about to go to the beach but check this out and let me know what you think.
In a happy suburban neighborhood surrounded by white picket fences with flowering rose bushes, sits a black house with a dead lawn. Unbeknownst to the neighbors, hidden beneath this home is a vast secret hideout. Surrounded by a small army of minions, we discover Gru (voiced by Steve Carell), planning the biggest heist in the history of the world. He is going to steal the moon (Yes, the moon!) in Universal’s new 3-D CGI feature, “Despicable Me.”
Gru delights in all things wicked. Armed with his arsenal of shrink rays, freeze rays, and battle-ready vehicles for land and air, he vanquishes all who stand in his way. Until the day he encounters the immense will of three little orphaned girls who look at him and see something that no one else has ever seen: a potential Dad.
The world’s greatest villain has just met his greatest challenge: three little girls named Margo, Edith and Agnes.
DESPICABLE ME opens July 9th, 2010
GREEN HORNET Gets Pushed To July
Seth Rogen’s passion project THE GREEN HORNET was supposed to hit theaters on June 25th, 2010 eventhough I still think he’s the wrong man for the job. The inevitable will happen but it just got pushed.. to 2 weeks later. Comingsoon reported that the movie version about Britt Reid’s masked alter ego and his sidekick Kato taking down bad guys has moved to July 9th, 2010. The reason why Columbia Pictures made this decision is that so it would give some room for the studio’s big comedy GROWN-UPS (check out the set photos) which has been moved from March to June 25th, 2010
GROWN-UPS is like comical, ridiculous version of Big Chill where five best friends from high school who reunite 30 years later on a Fourth of July weekend starring Adam Sandler and his friends Rob Schneider, Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade. Just brace yourself for a another dumb comedy ala Strange Wilderness, Paul Blart and Zohan. So how bout this.. let’s not and say we didn’t.
THE GREEN HORNET on July 9th, 2010 puts it in competition with Robert Rodriguez-produced PREDATORS and the animated film DESPICABLE ME starring the voices of Steve Carell and Kristen Wiig (Check out the teaser poster)
Behold! The logos for future Marvel movies. AICN was at the The Licensing International Expo that’s moved from NY to now being held in Las Vegas. He snapped some photos, including the image above of all the logos for IRON MAN 2 which opens on May 7th, 2010, THOR which apparently opens on May 20th, 2011, FIRST AVENGER: CAPTAIN AMERICA opens July 22nd, 2011 and AVENGERS on May 4th, 2012
He also took the time to look at these first look teaser posters for the live action adaptation SCOTT PILGRIM directed by Edgar Wright and some upcoming animated movies: RANGO, starring the voice of Johnny Depp and directed by Gore Verbinski opens 2011, and DESPICABLE ME starring the voice of Steve Carell opens July 2010. Let the anticipation begin!
