Alice Eve, Emily Blunt

Just recently, when info hit the web that Channing Tatum is considered for THE FIRST AVENGER: CAPTAIN AMERICA, along with a gazillion other actors, it was also said that the studio had approached Keira Knightley to play Betsy Ross, which I found a bit weird but this one makes more sense,.. Turns out, it’s not Betsy Ross, it’s Peggy  and Deadline New York said the competition for the female lead is between Knightley, Alice Eve (She’s Out Of My League) and Emily Blunt.
So they’re going for an American to play CAPTAIN AMERICA but they’re ok with a Brit to play his love interest… interesting..
If you’d recall, Blunt was supposed to play Black Widow in IRON MAN 2 but Fox kept her tied to Gulliver’s Travels so it’s understandable why she would be chasing CAPTAIN AMERICA.
We’ll see how this race turns out.. I hope it doesn’t drag as long as trying to find the male lead.

WOLFMAN New Behind-The-Scenes Featurette

Wolfman

Ok, so the test screenings might not have turned out well but even if the story’s gonna stink, even if the acting is gonna blow, even if every other aspect is going to be disappointing, at least we can count on Rick Baker’s make up FX mastery, I’ll at least look forward to watching that. Yahoo has this new behind-the-scenes featurette for THE WOLFMAN starring Benicio Del Toro who’s explaining the father-son relationship which the classic films didn’t explore, the privilege of working with the great Anthony Hopkins, my favorite part is when the wolf viciously attacks him, it is glorious isn’t it?!… Read the rest of this entry »

I had high hopes for THE WOLFMAN, the anticipation of seeing Oscar winning make up artist Rick Baker’s latest work, the combination of talents that are Benicio Del Toro, Anthony Hopkins and Hugo Weaving. (Sorry Emily Blunt, you’re hot but actingwise, you’re not as great as those three yet), not to mention the trailer was wicked! But alas,… Read the rest of this entry »

Wolf Man

Universal has released the 2nd trailer for THE WOLFMAN, via Apple and this has more fast paced action packed footage compared to the previous trailer that showed a bit of the background story.
Go ahead and marvel at the legendary makeup artist Rick Baker’s latest masterpiece.
It’s been a long wait, the release date has been changed so many times, I thought the movie wasn’t treated fairly, we should’ve seen this back in 2008. But THE WOLFMAN will finally arrive in time for Valentine season 2010.
Check out the new trailer after the jump and let me know what you think… Read the rest of this entry »

And to make this day even more complete, the trailer of THE WOLF MAN has hit the web, via Yahoo. Universal screened this same footage back at Comic-Con ‘08 panel. I am loving the the stunning work that make-up magician Rick Baker to give that menacing animal look that Benicio Del Toro transforms into. Since the movie opens Valentine’s Day weekend 2010, I’m assuming the story might focus on the ‘beauty and the beast’-like romance between Del Toro and Emily Blunt… with lots of killing, howling, and terror all around. What do you think?

Inspired by the classic Universal film that launched a legacy of horror, The Wolfman brings the myth of a cursed man back to its iconic origins. Oscar winner Benicio Del Toro stars as Lawrence Talbot, a haunted nobleman lured back to his family estate after his brother vanishes. Reunited with his estranged father (Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins), Talbot sets out to find his brother…and discovers a horrifying destiny for himself. Joe Johnston directs The Wolfman, and six-time Oscar®-winning special effects artist Rick Baker brings his design and makeup talents to transform Del Toro into the fearsome title character

Lawrence Talbot’s childhood ended the night his mother died. After he left the sleepy Victorian hamlet of Blackmoor, he spent decades recovering and trying to forget. Emily Blunt TO THE GREEK

Posted by Rama On March - 26 - 2009

UPDATE: According to Chud, both Emily Blunt’s UK publicist and Universal have confirmed that unfortunately, Emily Blunt will NOT be part of the cast of GET HIM TO THE GREEK. What a buzzkill!

The girl who should’ve been Black Widow in IRON MAN 2, Emily Blunt is not one to be filing for unemployment anytime soon because gigs are coming her way from every direction, so yes she’s going to have to do that big budget CG filled comedy GULLIVER’S TRAVEL because Fox has her on a leash but after that she’s got something locked in that will put a smile on our faces.
Via Moviehole, Brit comedian with an uncontrollable hair Russell Brand who was in the hilarious rated R comedy Forgetting Sarah Marshall has revealed that Emily Blunt will be his co-star in the upcoming spin-off project GET HIM TO THE GREEK.

The story brings back Brand’s character, loud full of himself musician Aldous Snow who has to get from London to Los Angeles for a show. Jonah Hill plays an insurance adjuster trying to get Snow to the Greek Theater and Emily Blunt will play a pop star, Snow’s love interest and might do a duet with him, now that I gotta see. Produced by Judd Apatow, Directed by FSM helmer, Nick Stoller who wrote the script too..

Blunt Talks About Leaving IRON MAN 2

Posted by Rama On March - 24 - 2009

One of the biggest casting disappointment this year is Scarlett Johansson replacing Emily Blunt as Black Widow in IRON MAN 2. Don’t get me wrong, both girls look absolutely voluptuous but I think it’s fair to say that actingwise, Emily Blunt is one level above Scarlett.
Fox didn’t want to let Blunt go and so she’s stuck with Jack Black’s big budget comedy GULLIVER’S TRAVELS.

Without revealing if Black Widow will be Tony Stark’s lover or nemesis, Emily Blunt talked to MTV recently about passing up the chance of working with Favreau, Downey Jr., Samuel Jackson and Mickey Rourke

“It was one of things that was conflicting,”
“So it’s a shame the two of them couldn’t work together. It just got complicated, so I think I had to pull out for my own sanity more than anything.”

It’s understandable, arguing with Fox could only drag her into more trouble, that studio has a certain evil power.
She also mentioned what she think about Scarlett Johansson getting the role that she badly wanted..

“She’ll do a great job,” Blunt said, choosing her words carefully. “She’ll get up on that high-wire and do a great job.”

Maybe in her head, Emily Blunt was actually saying ‘I hope that high wire gets wrapped around Scarlet’s neck’.
IRON MAN 2 opens May 7th, 2010. By the way, you can follow the development of this project via Jon Favreau’s twitter.
