FRIGHT NIGHT Remade

Here we go again, are you ready? Brace yourself because another horror flick from the past is about to get some remake treatment. It’s the 1985 movie FRIGHT NIGHT directed by Tom Holland, about a teenager who discovers that his neighbors are vampires. By the way, I tried to find images of the vampires but they’re all a bit too much a.k.a images that would give you nightmare if you stare at them for too long, so I just settled for a cropped picture above from the movie’s old one-sheet.

According to Hollywood Reporter, Dreamworks is developing the remake with Michael Gaeta and Alison Rosenzweig of Gaeta/Rosenzweig Films are producing along with Michael De Luca who’s also developing a remake of Angel Heart.
The new version of FRIGHT NIGHT will keep its horror/comedy tone but today’s technology will make the FX look scarier than before. No writers hired yet, no directors and no cast either at this point and no word yet how much of the original plot will be kept or changed.

“For young Charlie Brewster, nothing could be better than an old horror movie late at night. Two men move in next door, and for Charlie with his horror movie experience, there can be no doubt that their strange behavior is explained by the fact that they are a vampire and his undead day guardian. The only one who can help him hunt them down is a washed-up actor, Peter Vincent, who hosts Charlie’s favorite TV show, Fright Night. Vincent doesn’t really believe that vampires exist, but does it for the money”
