For some reason, some people find it flattering when they find out they got their own personal stalker, but not Hillary Swank’s character in THE RESIDENT, word has it the title might change into INVASION OF PRIVACY. Shocktilyoudrop has the first look photos from the upcoming suspense/thriller starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan as the landlord who starts stalking his new tenant, a doctor played by Swank who moves into the new apartment in New York. Check out both photos after the jump, you’d see how up close and creepy Morgan could get just to be close to his object of affection, things get so bad, the plot turns into a game of cat and mouse. This is the directorial debut of Finnish filmmaker Antti J. Jokinen doing his first English language film. Also starring the great Christopher Lee (LOTR) who apparently hasn’t worked with Hammer Films since To the Devil a Daughter back in 1976… Read the rest of this entry »
AMELIA Poster
The big poster for AMELIA has arrived via comingsoon and it doesn’t look as inspiring as the trailer. Hillary Swank looks more like a mechanic in this artwork. What’s so damn interesting staring at her backside anyway. The next poster should be her on the plane.
Swank plays Amelia Earhart in the formative stages of her career, the legendary female American pilot who disappeared while flying over the Pacific Ocean in 1937 in an attempt to make a flight around the world. Also starring Richard Gere and Virginia Madsen and Ewan McGregor. Directed by Mira Nair who brought us Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love (1996) and The Namesake (2006)
After becoming the first woman to fly across the Atlantic, Amelia (Swank) was thrust into a new role as America’s sweetheart – the legendary “goddess of light,” known for her bold, larger-than-life charisma. Yet, even with her global fame solidified, her belief in flirting with danger and standing up as her own, outspoken woman never changed. She was an inspiration to people everywhere, from First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt (Cherry Jones) to the men closest to her heart: her husband, promoter and publishing magnate George P. Putnam (Gere), and her long time friend and lover, pilot Gene Vidal (McGregor). In the summer of 1937, Amelia set off on her most daunting mission yet: a solo flight around the world that she and George both anxiously foresaw as destined, whatever the outcome, to become one of the most talked-about journeys in history.
AMELIA opens October 23rd, 2009
AMELIA Trailer
You love inspiring oscar worthy true story movies ala October Sky and Seabiscuit and Chariots of Fire? Fox Searchlight has released the theatrical trailer for AMELIA , via Yahoo, starring the absolutely talented Hillary Swank as Amelia Earhart in the formative stages of her career, the legendary female American pilot who disappeared while flying over the Pacific Ocean in 1937 in an attempt to make a flight around the world.
Some say the plane ran out of fuel and crashed in the Pacific, some say Japanese soldiers captured and executed her, although I doubt that this movie will go into those.. theories. Also starring Richard Gere and Virginia Madsen and Ewan McGregor. Could this be a potential 3rd Oscar for Swank?
Directed by Mira Nair who brought us Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love (1996) and The Namesake (2006)
I’m sure Swank does wonderfully in this movie but I think Amy Adams was a more attractive Amelia Earhart (Night at the Museum)
AMELIA opens October 23rd, 2009
