The Filming For HOBBIT Moves To Summer 2010
Not too long ago, the great Peter Jackson told the world that they’ve finished the first script for THE HOBBIT which comes in 2 parts. They delivered the script to the studio and they’re very happy about it. Sounds like it’s going to be smooth sailing from here on out right? Nope, not even close. If you recall, Sir Ian McKellen a.k.a Gandalf once said that shooting would most likely start in Spring 2010 but Jackson just gave another update via Moviereporter.net, thanks to TheOneRing.net for the translation… Read the rest of this entry »
The First Script For HOBBIT Is Finished.
It’s time for some updates on THE HOBBIT, remember that one? The long, ambitious project to bring Tolkien classic to life on the screen, the movie will come in 2 parts. Producer Peter Jackson spoke recently via inthenews and BBC and revealed that the first script is done, the studio loved it, and they’re now working on the second script… Read the rest of this entry »
Ian McKellen And The Dumb Broads Of THE VIEW
Poor Sir Ian McKellen, he’s a fine, fine actor who didn’t deserve such treatment. He recently had to endure the stupidity of Elizabeth Hasselbeck, Whoopi Goldberg and the rest of the THE VIEW numbnuts. Those broads didn’t know what they were talking about and the worst part was that they kept talking. Check out the vibrant video below of the interview that pissed me off… Read the rest of this entry »
Ian McKellen Talks More About HOBBIT
Thank God for Sir Ian McKellen, he seems to be LOTR fan’s only connection to what’s going on with THE HOBBIT Movie. While Producer Peter Jackson and director Guillermo Del Toro and the writing team are working hard to bring Tolkien’s book to the big screen, via Empire, Gandalf The White gave the world some updates…
“The scripts for the two films will be delivered very soon,” he revealed. “Then they’ll be budgeted, and then they’ll be cast. And they’ll be going when they’ve always said they would be, which is next spring – March or April. Guillermo even told me at one point, ‘We’re going to film for 383 days.’ He’s got that artistic autism! Jackson’s the same; they’re very, very, very alike. They also very different, but they’ve so much in common. They both can’t stand Hollywood and have wonderful imaginations, and they’re both obsessed with gore and fantasy. Both of them laugh a great deal. Guillermo’s one of the most brilliant men I’ve ever met. His English vocabulary is way superior to mine!”
“Unforunately, there won’t be many of the actors going back,” he said, “unless they’re going to put masks on and be disguised as dwarves! Andy Serkis is, at the moment, I think, the only other actor who’s doing this film.”
Via TheOneRing.net, McKellen was a guest of UK’s Channel 4 Paul O’Grady Show recently and confirmed these bulletpoints..
- He has received ‘both’ scripts.
- Original LOTR cast members will be returning.
- He has signed the declaration that he will not talk to friends, family or even his agent about the script
- He does not know who is cast as Bilbo, but believes he will be an English actor.
Some of the names that have been rumored to play Bilbo Baggins are James McAvoy, Martin Freeman and David Tennant. Freeman is the only Englishman out of the three. Daniel Radcliffe was part of the rumors too but he shot ‘em down. We’ll just have to wait and see.
THE HOBBIT part I opens 2011 and part II opens 2012
MAGNETO Might Move Forward Next Year?
So what’s up with X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE? Not much really. We know a while back Producer Lauren Schuler Donner said it all depends on how well X-Men Origins: Wolverine would do and Bryan Singer at one point wanted to take on the project but thought he’d probably wanted to take a break from the Nazi or concentration camp world for a while. (Apt Pupil, X-Men, Valkyrie)
Screenwriter David Goyer gave this update to MTV sounding very hopeful about the prospect of a stand alone movie about the villain who could control electromagnetic force..
“They’re still thinking about doing it…They’re definitely looking into doing other X-Men spinoffs…
I’ve been in touch with them. I’m sure that project (Magneto) will move forward in the next year or so.”
Magneto was portrayed by the great Ian McKellen the previous 3 X-Men Films. Bryan Singer wants to return to that world but is actually only eyeing X-Men: First Class, written by Josh Schwartz.
With WOLVERINE IN JAPAN movie that’s going to happen starring Hugh Jackman, and DEADPOOL starring Ryan Reynolds, as much as I like the concept of seeing how the coolest villain came to be, I think it wouldn’t be as interesting as watching how the heroes, the good guys originated. Villains to me are more fun when they just show up creating havoc everywhere. I wouldn’t lose much if I didn’t know their background story, just like Heath Ledger’s Joker who had so many versions of how he got his scars.
HOBBIT Report From Gandalf. They Already Got Someone To Play Bilbo
Real quick now, just to let you in on what’s going on in Middle-Earth. As we all know, producer Peter Jackson and director Guillermo Del Toro have not wanted to give the fans too much because they always said that they were in the writing process or that the studio has greenlit the budget. Be that as it may, Ian McKellen a.k.a the great Gandalf, showed up at BFI IMAX Cinema in London and revealed the following bullet points, via slashfilm…
- He will return as Gandalf
- He expects he’ll start working on set in March 2010
- He said they’ve already cast the role of Bilbo Baggins. But he did not reveal the name of the actor.
- His own personal copy of the script for the first part of the film would arrive within the next 2 weeks.
It’d be funny if Sam Worthington gets to play Bilbo, I’m just saying that cause every studio in Hollywood wants a piece of him nowadays.
THE HOBBIT part I opens December 2011
THE HOBBIT Part II opens December 2012
