The king of the worldwide box office of all time, director James Cameron previously said his game-changing movie will hit DVD this coming Earth Day, which I thought was appropriate since AVATAR did carry lots of environmental, love your nature message, and that the Blu-Ray might arrive later on this year. Cohen’s AVATAR Sketch Scrapped From The Oscars So That Cameron Won’t Get Upset
Sacha Baron Cohen (Borat, Bruno) was supposed to be one of the presenters at Oscars this weekend but now his name is gone from the list. Vulture said because co-producer Bill Mechanic decided to pull the plug on the AVATAR sketch that Ben Stiller and Cohen had been preparing for the evening. Mechanic was worried that James Cameron would be so offended by it that the billion dollar director would walk out of the Oscar broadcast on live TV.

That HIROSHIMA Book That Cameron Wants To Adapt Is Halted
A couple of months ago, James Cameron optioned the rights to THE LAST TRAIN FROM HIROSHIMA: THE SURVIVORS LOOK BACK by author Charles Pellegrino. The non-fiction book is about Tsutomu Yamaguchi, one of the last survivors of the U.S. bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki during WWII. Cameron wants to make an uncompromising film about nuclear weapons, sharing Yamaguchi’s experience to future generations. Damon And Gyllenhaal Refuse To Play Jake Sully In AVATAR
James Cameron revealed, via LA TIMES, that he offered the role Jake Sully to a few big names because Fox wanted “a bankable star to offset some of the risks of the expensive project” Turns out, Matt Damon and Jake Gyllenhaal those names but they said no, they turned down Cameron. Cameron Says AVATAR DVD Arrives On Earth Day. 3-D Blu-Ray To Come Later
If you thought AVATAR was awesome and can’t wait for the DVD and Blu-Ray to hit the stores, well, the king of the worldwide box office, James Cameron talked recently, via Wall Street Journal that since AVATAR’s message is environmental, the standard def DVD will arrive on Earth Day while the 3-D Blu-Ray might come later in November, although Fox Home Entertainment said that the 3-D Blu-Ray is still in conceptual stages so it might not arrive in November after all..
