The Switch

When I first found out that this is a Jennifer Aniston movie and it’s a romantic comedy, my first thought was ‘o geez.. here we go again’.. but wait, co-starring is Jason Bateman and sure enough, one scene that’s briefly shown in this trailer below got me laughing my socks off, when he’s drunk, playing with the sperm donation like it’s some kind of airplane toy and then forced to switch the content with his.. not shown thankfully but hilarious concept nonetheless. Check it out after this jump.. Read the rest of this entry »

Ryan Reynolds And Jason Bateman Will CHANGE UP

Posted by Rama On March - 11 - 2010

Ryan Reynolds, Jason Bateman

Ryan Reynolds is still busy trying to bring the fans a fair GREEN LANTERN portrayal and Jason Bateman.. well, if you ask me, other than acting in movies here and there including whatever project Jason Reitman is producing, Bateman continues on with preaching the soon coming of ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT big screen treatment. These two individuals will collide in CHANGE UPRead the rest of this entry »

The wait is over my AD friends! Our favorite series will hit the big screen and it has been confirmed via Austin movie blog and The Playlist that the show’s creator Mitch Hurwitz will direct the ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT The Movie. All this time he’s been working on the script and… Read the rest of this entry »

Hurwitz Is Working On ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT Script

Here we go again, another round of let’s hear if ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT movie is really going to happen. As a fan of the series, it’s a bit upsetting that all I keep hearing all this time is that the feature is being written and Jason Bateman and Ron Howard seem to be the only ones excited about returning to the Bluth family for the big screen version.
Bateman previously said that the show’s creator Mitch Hurwitz is halfway done writing it and that the movie might arrive in 2011. Hollywood Reporter now said that Mitchell Hurwitz and his co-executive producer James Vallely are working on the screenplay. They are spinning more bizarre encounters for the eccentric, spoiled Bluth family and production might start next Spring. Imagine and Fox Searchlight are producing the film.
Ok, I suppose this gives a little assurance that the Bluth family members will eventually reunite, Hurwitz who won 2 primetime Emmys for AD, had said that he wouldn’t start writing a film unless all the main actors, including Jason Bateman, Michael Cera, David Cross, Will Arnett, Alia Shawkat, Portia de Rossi and Jeffrey Tambor, were committed but Bateman, Cera have been doing extremely well in movies, although Cera is the only one that worries me, he may think he’s too cool and too big now for AD.

Jason Bateman Talks HANCOK 2 And AD

Sometimes I wonder how far would an actor go to hide his involvement with a project and keep it secret from the public. How far until all their bluff gets old and useless. I remember Bradley Cooper denied he was Face in THE A-TEAM movie and whatdya know, he’s now Face in THE A-TEAM. Via Comingsoon.net, Jason Bateman who played the Publicist trying to help the drunk, broke-ass superhero fix his reputation in Hancock said this about HANCOCK 2.

“I only know what I’ve read,”
“No one has contacted me or anybody that represents me to ask if we were interested. I don’t know anything about it. It’s surprising to me that Variety would write that story because they’re usually pretty well vetted before they report something and that was completely false. I haven’t heard anything about it. The whole thing about me being on board could not be farther from the truth. I would love to be a part of the film, but I haven’t heard anything about it.”

Whoa! Blame it on the trades huh Bateman. Forget Variety for a second, what about all that talk by director Peter Berg about everybody’s coming back and there will be a third god in the story?
Somebody is pulling our chains here, man! If any, he’s probably playing it safe,.. not to talk much about project that hasn’t been completely locked in yet.
As far as ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT Movie…

“It’s still being written and my guess is that is will be shot some time next year,” Bateman added. “I have a feeling that Mitch [Hurwitz] is halfway done writing it. We’ll probably shoot it middle of next year and then for however long things take to get cut and marketed, so maybe the first part of 2011 I would imagine. That’s just a guess.”

I’m a big fan of the series, I want the big screen version to arrive already but after a while of hearing about how it’s being written all the time, and hearing all the actors from the show kept saying ‘yeah it’s going to happen’ but nothing actually takes place, my anticipation for AD movie is slowly but surely diminishing
Now every time I hear about AD info, I quickly say ‘yeah whatever, what’s next?!’

Original Stars Return For HANCOCK 2

Posted by Rama On September - 10 - 2009

Hancock

Real quick now, if you are anticipating HANCOCK 2. Anybody? Ok, Will Smith and Charlize Theron and Jason Bateman will return for the sequel.. duh! Director Peter Berg told this to MTV

“Everybody’s going to come back for a sequel,”

HANCOCK 2 is being written by scribes Adam Fierro and Glen Mazzara. The plot is kept under wraps, but they will work with Smith and Berg to develop the story.

SPOILER ALERT! The movie that opened last summer about a drunk superhero and a publicist trying to help restore his image turned out to be a pseudo Greek Mythology when it was revealed that Will Smith was actually a god that can become immortal and highly vulnerable in the presence of his goddess companion, played by Charlize Theron. Director Peter Berg previously talked to Sci-Fi Wire, basically saying that since the story indicates he’s not alone of his kind, they could bring in another god out there for the sequel.

“We have [someone in mind],” Berg said. “I’m not gonna tell you who, but we have!”

Maybe it’s Paul Bettany, the man sure knows how stick with movies of biblical proportion. But my vote for who should play this third god for HANCOCK 2 is.. the most interesting man in the world

Beavis And Butthead Talk EXTRACT

Posted by Rama On September - 1 - 2009

This weekend, the workplace comedy EXTRACT hits theaters nationwide, the movie’s directed by Mike Judge who brought us Office Space and he’s also the genius behind the classic Beavis & Butthead. So to promote the movie starring Jason Bateman huh huh Master-bateman huh huh and Kristen Wiig, the two Icons have returned, via the vibrant video above to discuss how cool it is that guys could also get paid to have sex. All I can say is,.. this brings back the good old days.. I demand another BEAVIS & BUTTHEAD Movie, damnit! I am the great Cornholio!

EXTRACT New Poster

I want to vouch for Mike Judge, I’d like to tell everybody all over the world of his upcoming movie EXTRACT, (check out the trailer) that’s how much of a fan I was of Office Space, Idiocracy and Beavis and Butthead but the scenes that they showed at Comic-Con ‘09 weren’t funny, none of the clips made me laugh, in fact it was a very boring panel, hardly any member of the audience wanted to come up and ask questions. I’m just hoping it’s because Judge is keeping the ’secret laugh-riot weapon’ for when we see the whole movie. Via we are movie geeks, the new poster for EXTRACT hit the web and you might like or hate the artwork depending on whether Mila Kunis‘ freakishly huge right hand is a bit too much.

Ben Affleck will play an ambulance-chasing lawyer in the film, which centers on a flower extract factory owner (Jason Bateman) who’s dealing with workplace problems and a streak of bad luck, including his wife’s affair with a gigolo.

EXTRACT opens September 4th, 2009

I’ve seen this weekend’s movies, don’t worry, I’m going to post the reviews soon enough. Juggling too many things on a Friday has its consequences. But before I go and take care of some business. Check out the vibrant video above form whatispaul, a new video blog on the set of PAUL, the new comedy by Brit comedians Simon Pegg and Nick Frost (Hot Fuzz) about 2 geeks who encounter an alien. Here, Simon and Nick give us a more detailed look at the cast and crew that even reveals funny lady Jane Lynch in character as the Diner lady.

Pegg And Frost Get Rogen To Voice PAUL

Holy smokes! Will we ever get tired of hearing or watching Seth Rogen?! That guy’s freakin’ everywhere. You would think that he’d take a long break to just chill and write his GREEN HORNET movie but nope, according to Variety, he’s signed on to do yet another voice work (Monsters Vs. Aliens, Kung Fu Panda, Spiderwick Chronicles, Horton Hears A Who). This time it’s for PAUL, a new comedy by the 2 Brit funnymen, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz). I got nothing against them and I hope they make movies together til they die.

The story is brilliant actually, I’m surprised no one’s thought of it before. Written by and starring none other than Pegg and Frost. It’s about 2 Brit sci-fi geeks on a road trip to a convention in U.S.A., their conspiracy dreams come true when they trek to Area 51 and encounter Paul, an escaped alien who will be voiced by Rogen.

Also cast in the movie are some more American funny people like Jason Bateman, Kristen Wiig, Jane Lynch, and Bill Hader.

The movie’s directed by director Greg Motolla. These guys are like best friends, they’ve worked together at one time or another.. . Hader and Rogen were in SUPERBAD which was directed by Motolla who previously cast Wiig in ADVENTURELAND. Bateman and Wiig are in the upcoming Mike Judge’s EXTRACT. Lynch was in 40 YEAR OLD VIRGIN with Rogen. Thanks to Rama’s SCREEN reader Jeremy for the heads up

Six degrees of Seth Rogen, anybody?
