Last year I was surprised by how refreshing The Time Traveler’s Wife was, it was chick flick mixed with a bit of sci-fi and it was heartbreaking and nothing short of romantic. The chemistry between Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams was close to perfect, of course neither deserve Oscars for those roles but it was a good movie nonetheless. And now Bana is ready to go back to action, he won’t have to wear Sandals like in Troy or have his face tattoed like in Star Trek though… Read the rest of this entry »

Madden And The FAIR LADY
After names like Danny Boyle and Joe Wright who turned down the offer even after playing with the idea, according to Variety, Producers Duncan Kenworthy and Cameron Mackintosh may have found their director for the retelling of MY FAIR LADY. His name is John Madden, nominated for helming Shakespeare In Love but his works after that weren’t as masterful in my opinion (Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, Proof) but this goes to show that MY FAIR LADY is within his field… Read the rest of this entry »
Joe Wright To Direct HANNA
For a while, some thought director Joe Wright (Pride And Prejudice, Atonement) is going to tackle the remake of MY FAIR LADY as his next project, to be reunited with his go-to girl Keira Knightley who’ll get to play Eliza Doolittle, iconically played by the late Audrey Hepburn in the original version. But Wright denied attachment, he did play with the idea but chose not go through with it. His previous film The Soloist, in my opinion, didn’t get a fighting chance because Paramount moved the release date from Oscar worthy season last year to this year’s spring and when it did come out, hardly anybody cared to watch it (earned only $31 Million domestically) much less talk Oscar buzz regarding his directing or the actors’ performance, Wright deserves better than this. But his next gig won’t be drama, it will be an action adventure… Read the rest of this entry »

Just the other day we heard that Keira Knightley has won the lead role in MY FAIR LADY the remake which is supposed to be directed by her Pride & Prejudice and Atonement director Joe Wright. Report said he took the job because he couldn’t move forward with the project Indian Summer. But now Wright himself told Screenrush that his involvement with MY FAIR LADY is a bunch of bullcrap… Read the rest of this entry »

Keira Knightley Wants You To Stop Beating Women
With all this Chris Brown Vs. Rihanna.. (I meant the abuse, not the legalities), more and more awareness about Domestic violence is behind emphasized. The great cutie but skinny Keira Knightley collaborated with her Pride and Prejudice director Joe Wright and came up with the PSA ad for the charity Women’s Aid that you can watch via the vibrant video above. Check it out and let me know what you think… is it too strong of a message? Do you think the ad’s effective? Do you have a better idea?
