CYRUS Trailer

Cyrus John C. Reilly

Man, I so wish I was at the Sundance Film Festival ‘10 right now, cause I badly wanna watch this comedy CYRUS from the Duplass Bros. (Baghead). They’re showing it this weekend over there. Now I gotta wait like a sucka until the movie gets a release date. Waiting blows. Fox Searchlight has released the trailer and it looks hilarious enough, I might even forgive John C. Reilly for Step Brothers and The Vampire’s Assistant.
It’s Reilly Vs. Jonah Hill to fight for the affection of Marisa Tomei, plus anything that Catherine Keener does, I’m there. Watch the trailer after this jump… Read the rest of this entry »

John Malkovich Red Joshua Dallas Thor

UPDATE: AICN said Townsend got kicked from THOR because he showed up 6 hours late for a screen test. And the reason he was replaced as Aragorn in LOTR by Viggo is that at the time, Townsend was deemed too young for the role.

Apparently this past weekend was the weekend of actors exiting projects and replacements to the rescue. According to Variety, John Malkovich has stepped in to take the place of another John… John C. Reilly in the upcoming graphic novel adaptation RED. It doesn’t state the reason for Reilly’s departure but hey, one Oscar nominee replaced by another Oscar nominee, I say it’s not a bad deal. On another note, Hollywood Reporter says Stuart Townsend a.k.a Charlize Theron’s boyfriend which officially makes him a lucky bastard, who was set to play Fandral has exited THOR, shooting starts Monday, due to creative differences and the new guy playing the role now is a fairly unknown actor named Joshua Dallas. No worries, you’re not gonna be quizzed on his resume… Read the rest of this entry »

John C. Reilly Red Mary Louise Parker

Just the other day, the great Helen Mirren joined the cast of the adaptation RED that’s already starring Bruce Willis and Morgan Freeman and now HeatVision has reported that John C. Reilly and Mary Louise Parker (TV’s Weeds) have signed on as well. Here’s the official synopsis of the graphic novel.. “Paul Moses is a man with too much blood on his hands. For years, masquerading as a low-level clerk, he has travelled the world as a CIA agent, coldly and mercilessly killing Americażs enemies. Now, Moses is old, retired, and wants nothing more than to grow oldand die in peace. But when a new, politically-appointed CIA director discovers Mosesż existence and history, he gives the order for Mosesż death, setting a chain of events in motion that nobody could have predicted… Read the rest of this entry »

John C. Reilly, Sigourney Weaver, Ed Helms, Anne Heche

Real quick now, even though John C. Reilly hangs out with Will Ferrell and recently disappointed me in the crappy Vampire’s Assistant, trust me, do NOT watch that movie, but I still have respect for the Oscar nominated actor who in his next gig will be collaborating with the star of the biggest R-rated comedy of all time, Ed Helms (The Hangover). Variety says Sigourney Weaver (Avatar), Anne Heche (Spread) and Alia Shawkat (Whip It) have joined the cast of CEDAR RAPIDS for Fox Searchlight… Read the rest of this entry »

John C. Reilly Lives In CEDAR RAPIDS With Ed Helms

Posted by Rama On September - 30 - 2009

John C. Reilly, Ed Helms

Real quick now, because these two individuals deserve it, according to Hollywood Reporter, Oscar nominee John C. Reilly has signed on to star in CEDAR RAPIDS for Fox Searchlight, already starring Ed Helms who successfully cracked us up this summer in The Hangover.
Directed by Miguel Arteta, written by Phil Johnston, it is an ensemble road-trip comedy about a wholesome and naive small-town Wisconsin man (Helms) who, when his role model dies, must represent his company at a regional insurance conference in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where his mind is blown by the big-town experience.
Reilly plays a family man, who attends the conference and sees it as a vacation and time to let loose.
This should be an interesting concept, two guys with two different perspectives about the event. I’m thinking one is bumbling, nervous, and in awe while the other is laid back and happy-go-lucky
But I’m still waiting on Reilly returning to musical drama again, the man is too talented to just get stuck in comedy (Walk Hard, Talladega Nights, Step Brothers, The Promotion)
