I wonder if it’s a coincidence that the 2nd full trailer, via Apple, for FROM PARIS WITH LOVE hit the web on the same day that it was announced that this movie’s director Pierre Morel will be taking on DUNE. Ya, my money’s on coincidence but FROM PARIS WITH LOVE has become one my most anticipated movies of the year only because seeing psycho badass John Travolta beating Asian gang all by himself should be one helluva scene to watch. I didn’t think Wild Hogs was all that bad, I understand some would see it as one of the worst comedy of all time but it had its funny moments, and Peter Fonda’s appearance was a nice touch. The movie banked $168 Million in domestic box office and talks of a sequel has been circulating for the last 2 years. Unfortunately Disney has been doing a major ‘audit’ and by that I mean the mouse house has been axing projects that it deems unnecessary and a possible waste of resources. We saw the 2 character posters, we’ve watched the crazy trailer, I wish I could show you the red-band int’l trailer which was even more insane but the studio asked me to remove it. Now Lionsgate has sent me the domestic new poster for FROM PARIS WITH LOVE starring the badass John Travolta who’s always good at playing bad guys and Jonathan Rhys Meyers who’s in for a wild ride. Directed by Pierre Morel (District 13, Taken), produced by Luc Besson. A low-ranking intelligence operative (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) working in the office of the U.S. Ambassador in France takes on more than he bargained for when he partners with a wisecracking, fast-shooting, high-ranking U.S. agent (John Travolta) who’s been sent to Paris to stop a terrorist attack. What the hell happened?! The previous trailer for OLD DOGS was so much funnier than this new trailer, which is more like an extended clip. But I still think Wild Hogs was one of the funniest movies in 2007 so I’m giving director Walt Becker another shot. Will Seth Green steal the show from John Travolta and Robin Williams? Lionsgate has requested me to remove the previous red-band trailer which is too bad because that one was more awesome but the green band teaser trailer for FROM PARIS WITH LOVE has hit the web via Yahoo. You can watch it using the media player below. I’m not digging the Ocean’s Twelve style music though, I was hoping something this action-packed would be accompanied by a Slayer song. But John Travolta’s character Charlie Wax is still intact and violent along with his joke about a billion Chinese people. Priceless!

We saw the brief int’l promo showing crazy John Travolta acting like he’s some kind of John Wayne with a bazooka and now, IGN has the teaser poster for FROM PARIS WITH LOVE. I’m actually looking forward to this one because it’s directed by Pierre Morel, the same guy who brought us Liam Neeson’s badass action flick Taken. Cool artwork, huh? Never thought you could hold a miniature Eiffel Tower like you would a handgun.

FROM PARIS WITH LOVE opens February 19th, 2010

I don’t know about you but I thought the harley-riding comedy Wild Hogs was hysterical. Critics at Rottentomatoes hated it and tomatometer only gave 14%. I think they’re being too harsh,.. it was a silly, fun slapstick physical comedy which is basically what OLD DOGS is going to be like, and it’s from the director of Wild Hogs, Walt Becker.
The trailer has hit the web and guess what,.. I laughed. But I sure hope the movie itself overall has some more ammunition other than just what we’re seeing here. John Travolta and Robin Williams are the lead riot but I think Seth Green and Justin Long are going to try to steal the show.

Two best friends—one unlucky-in-love divorcee (Robin Williams) and the other a fun-loving bachelor (John Travolta)—have their lives turned upside down when they’re unexpectedly charged with the care of six-year-old twins while on the verge of the biggest business deal of their lives. The not-so kidsavvy bachelors stumble in their efforts to take care of the twins (newcomers Ella Blue Travolta and Conner Rayburn), leading to one debacle after another, and perhaps to a new-found understanding of what’s really important in life.
